Hey guys. I know when it comes down to it, no one is going to provide me with a successful campaign (handout) and I don't expect/want that. With that being said, it would be GREAT to have a mentor who's been successful with my traffic source (POF) and can save me from the pitfalls they made when starting out. Even though I want a mentor, I still am self motivated - I'm a member of 5 Affiliate Networks, set up POFpro on my VPS, and am testing multiple ads and landing pages everyday just as Caurmen's guide advises.
A little backstory - I'm a college senior with a 3.7 GPA looking at a regular entry level job starting in January which will pay around 30K a year. If I can make 100 dollars a day by then, I'd be able to not take the job and live life on my own time, while building up the affiliate business even more without any distractions. Right now I have school 10-5 with some short breaks in between every day, so most of my work is at night.
I know that there are follow along campaigns, but it would be GREAT to be able to talk to someone on Skype, who's been successful on POF, who can guide me to being profitable (without giving my any successful campaigns which I DONT want). Teach a man to fish, feed him for life - that whole analogy. And of course I know this won't be free but I'm willing to pay more money now because once January hits I'm going to succumb to the corporate world.
You should really post a follow along here on the forum. That way you will get multiple people mentoring you and you won't have to pay anyone extra to do so.
Completely concur with cmdeal; you have a ton of mentors for $99/month already–show us your best effort and we'll chip in wherever we can.
You should do a follow-along concomitant with your campaign(s) to get feedback.
As you grow a bit and absorb the feedback, consider joining a mastermind with people who are seeing similar progress on PoF.
The mentoring will naturally happen as you share your results respond to criticism, and you will likely get input from people who would not consider mentoring at all.
The thing with mentors is, if they know enough about X traffic source to teach you everything you need to know, they are probably highly successful, busy, and tutoring a newbie would have a high opportunity cost for them.
