I run a European site but my timezone is in PST (- 9 hours). This is obviously not ideal since I can't adjust budgets at the end of the day since it's way too late (I'm on East Coast time).
Looks like FB closes your old account if you change the timezone, does that also mean I lose all my custom audiences? Any workarounds for the audience issues or general advice on the time zone issue?
Thanks,
Max
Talk to FB and see if you can share the audience across.
Facebook does allow custom audience sharing with other accounts but I believe it is a locked feature, i.e. you need to talk to a rep to get it enabled.
Moving them across to a new account for a time zone change sounds like a solid reason to allow this!
Interesting, had no idea this "feature" was available. I'm on shaky grounds with FB so not sure I want them to even know I have another account right now. Thanks for the tip though, I'll think about whether it's worth it or not. What's your take on time zones? Do you think they should always be aligned with your target audiences' time zones?
If you have a high volume campaign with your account time zones midnight right in the middle of a profitable period, then you should really make another account to run it.
Ideally you'd have several business accounts in different time zones so that you can align with peoples time zones.
I guess an ideal alignment might be account midnight = 3 AM or something in target geo, i.e. whenever is the lowest usage period Facebook-wide.
