Newbie interested Auto Finance / Insurance marketing

Hey there.

I work in Finance & Insurance for a car dealership. I'd like to use some of the industry knowledge and skills I've developed and leverage them online with affiliate marketing (lead gen).

My preference is paid traffic over SEO as I don't have the inclination to build authority sites / collate content.

Is anyone deep into this vertical? What's the best way for a newbie to attack it?

Facebook seems like a good traffic source (and I have some experience with their ads) but is it the best way to generate insurance/finance leads?

If anyone can help with some insights into lead gen (particularly with an automotive focus), I'd love the help to get started.

Definitely Facebook and Adwords/Bing.

Search allows you to target intent.

Facebook + US = lots of third party intelligence to leverage for targeting people with vehicles of some description.

PPV is another option for insurance

Search ( PPC ) is the main source for Auto Finance / Insurance. It's expensive but also conversions rates are high.

Alternatively PPV / Toolbars / Domain typos work fine too.
