I am relatively new to this industry but damn its beginning to seem to me that this industry is massive shady business or I
must be very unlucky !!!
I received Skype message from AM yesterday evening saying that advertiser recommended me trying a new geo for the offer
i was running and just started getting some promising results, also that she is sending me good creatives from advertiser and then
she sent me 5 Landers. Two of the 5 landing pages she sent were my best performing landers that i had been working on for the last
5 weeks.
So pissed off right now, from one shady situation to another. I having working on this bloody landers for two weeks spending all this long
hours learning everything i can about HTML and CSS and whatever and spent the last month and 70% of my AM budget changing stuff and
improving landers and optimising this campaign only to have those landers shared with others who probably will earn more from it.
i would like to join this network... never had any am share any lp with even when i ask for samples....
Unfortunately this is part of the game so you have to play with it...
Just to add to this. "Advertiser had new lander available!"
Was "my" lander edited for their page.
I dont bother about it..
Did you ask for an explanation? It's common that landers get stolen, but it's definately not acceptable when your AM does it.
Thannks cmdeal fro dropping by ,
The other network from my other thread did resolve their issue and got back to me to run traffic with them but
i definitely would not do that after the way they treated me.
but this is now a different network and they supposed to be one of
the most reputable and they are here on the forum as well.
@nordestgaard,
Yeah i told her that two of those were my landing pages and she said
advertiser contacted her asking for two Subis's (me and another affiliate) based on the traffic we were sending to offer to
recommend us running a new geo they opened for the offer which was converting well.
So i was happy because this meant they wanted more traffic from me which meant i was doing things right so i was motivated
as i am relatively new to this but then i realised the landers she sent included two of mine!!!
So it seems to me that they (i can't tell if its advertiser or Aff Network) look at best converting landers and the send it to a few
other affiliates affiliates who are doing well to get more traffic which to me is crazy. So i am a noob and work hard on this offer
and then my creatives get sent to top earners so they earn even more and where does that leave me who is still learning ..?
I see the dilemma here... I know I would have been so upset! I would tell them something like "it is clear that you have violated my copyrights. I will not do take any legal steps this time, if you take action to get my landing pages removed from other affiliate accounts, and guarantee, that this will not happen in the future"
This industry is a beast of its own, where shady shit happens and millions are made.
1.Do you use, double meta refresh for your click to offer redirect? If not, do.
2. Chin up dude, sounds like you are killing it and you'll be banking harder than any jacker in no time.
Actually, this is a good news. You learned how to create LP's for your own, so you will be step ahead before people who steal LP's. This is AM, ppl always will steal lps, banners, campaigns, etc.
Just be better than them, and you will bank harder than you ever imagined, like Sciaq said.
Perhaps you should sell a consulting service.
"My landers were so good the affiliate network stole them!"
To help other offer-owners improve their landing page.
Hmmm... I know some networks send out landers in their emails, but they're collected from the spy tools. Were you using sources easily viewed in spy tools?
If they have got your landers from viewing the referrers and sent out to affiliates, that is 110% not on.
haha you guys are getting me excited here lol but i probably just got lucky here i could spend two
days just to mock up a simple lander. Still barely wrapping my head around things especially on the
techy side and most offers i have attempted most get pulled before i even get things off the ground
because i move really slow but you guys are making me see a positive side
in this dilemma.
@maynzie
I am pretty sure they did not get my landers through Spy tools bc its Pop and traffic and traffic source won't even
let you see site name, instead they have Id's to indetify sites like "7392649, 47256945, 49762354" etc so i don't see
how spy tools could pic these up.
Is there any way to prevent advertiser or Network from Viewing your Landing pages. I think i have read this
somewhere, i can't remember where. Any body kind enough to shed some light on this topic please...?
My banners are ripped all the time. One advertiser even send my banners to all affiliates with their weekly/monthly email.
When money is being made, don't trust anyone until you really, REALLY know the person.. And then still have your doubts...
It's unfortunate but like everyone said it's part of the game.
Mr. Green made a good point in a thread a few months ago that you can't rely on these things because they are so easily copied. You need unique pages matched with something else to get a step ahead of everyone else.
these things happen all the time.
a direct advertiser who I have done 7 figures revenue with, took my landing page and hosted it himself with some minor variations. Then he shot an email to all other affiliates and networks saying they have "new high converting landers" available.
What did I do? Nothing. I just started sending traffic to his lander and saved on dedicated server costs lol
You will soon realize that in this industry, you need an edge to make big bucks. (In the example I mentioned, the traffic source is my edge)
Creatives are only 10% of the puzzle.
One of our employees enrolled in an online marketing course run by a so called guru.
It the seminar the guru showed some landing pages and told the students they should try to copy them as much as possible.
3 out of the 4 landing pages he gave as examples were ours.
I understand what every one says about the constant ripping of landers but are you guys saying its normal for
network(affiliate manager) to out my Landers...?
My Affiliate manager was the one who gave out my landers
"she told me the advertiser asked her to but she thought they belonged to advertiser"
Are they supposed to? No
Does it happen? Yes
Why do you keep on working with http://www.performancerevenues.com/?
Other networks dont have shitty AMs from russia
That's a pretty shady situation but unless you take legal action ( which isn't woth it ), I would just move on.
Put your time into creating an advantage that can't be copied as easily as a lander.
yeah i think i'll just keep runnin for now while looking into a way to prevent advertiser or Affiliate network
from seeing my landers.
@vidivo
I left Perfromance revenues that very month, this one is one of the most reputable Affiliate networks HERE on the STM forum !
My affiliate manager did send me an email as PROOF that it was Advertiser that Instructed her so at this point i dont know what
to belief but they did give me a Payout bump on all geos i was running for the offer so i guess i'll just keep running for now.
AM's and Advertisers are like lovers, some of them are going to totally suck and betray you, but eventually you'll find the ones you truly bond with and they'll make all the difference in your life.
