Any guides on bidding strategies and optimization strategies and scaling strategies for PPV for noobs?
Our PPV section is literally ginormous!
Just stroll through that looking for coloured prefixes. I don't think we have a really basic guide per se but it's very easy to pick up how PPV works.
You bid on strings of text and if the URL in the address bar matches that string, you get a chance to show a pop. You have to bid and battle with competitors who's campaigns also match those strings.
Because it's based on string matching, you can get very comprehensive with it e.g. target en.wikipedia.org, en.wikipedia.or, wikipedia.org, en.wikipedia, etc. That's what URL imploders are for (check out AffExpert tools).
I have stickied some useful threads in the PPV section and here are some links:

Not sure if its still a tactic but bidding on
google.com google.co google.c google. etc if you're the higher bidder on the ones with less keywords, you can sneakily grab the traffic without the competitors realising. Used to work on LI/TV, not sure if still does was 2 years ago now
How about with this mobile ppv stuff where is is RON and not target or keyword based?
You mean like direct nav e.g. ZeroPark, DNTX, etc?
Note that 'pops' per se are not very practicable on smartphone devices, but direct nav still works fine.
Yah by pops it could be redirect or actual pops.
I should clarify - I don't mean that these don't exist and don't work, I just consider full window pops that come into the foreground to be a little different to traditional desktop popups/popunders.
Anyway, you can test mobile traffic on PPV all the same and you'd use the platform in the exact same way as you would do for desktop traffic.
