Calling out mobile device on landers... too many discrepancy in the data!

Hey, I've a question for those who use the STM tracker.
When you want to call out the device of the mobile user on your landing page, which variables do you use?

Do you use the native variables, brand and model, available on the STM tracker that you can pass on the URL when you generate a new tracking link?
Or do you use the variables that you can get on your ad network, like [phone_brand], [phone_model] etc.

Everytime I want to compare the STM tracker variables with the ones that the ad networks sent, I have huge discrepancy in names.
It's like not even 10% of the names of mobile phones given by the ad network match the names given by the STM tracker.

For example:

Model name given by the STM tracker:
GT-I9000
Model name given by the ad network (several names that appear under GT-I9000 in the pivot table):
Android 4.1
GT-I8190
GT-I9082L
GT-S6790N
GT-S7262

Model name given by the STM tracker:
LT15i
Model name given by the ad network (several names that appear under LT15i in the pivot table):
Android 4.1
E430
E455
E460
LG-P700-Orange
LG/P875/V1.0
LG730
LT15i
P700
P715
P760

I've not tested it yet but I wonder how it can convert well with such a difference in the data. Which data should I trust? How do you make this work?

If they are using a different database/handset detection system then you're probably shit outta luck I'm afraid.

The STM tracker uses the free WURFL database.

There are several other options which can be more accurate and detailed, and that's like the issue!
