Hello everyone,
thought I’d turn this into a follow along to keep myself accountable and hopefully turn this into a success story.
Here is what I’ve got so far:
Sweepstake offer for the country I’m targeting. It’s one of the top offers of the network I’m running with, $1,50 payout, SOI. Will also split test the DOI version and other offers, but I feel like I need to get more clicks to the offer, before I start that.
3 landers. Question style with very broad appeal.
I had 8 conversions using the $50 voucher from the PopAds giveaway, so I guess it’s at least working to some degree already which is nice.
Since I’m running PPV, I guess from here on I have 3 ways to go for targeting:
1) Keywords: I think the problem with this is that I end up with tons of domains containing that keyword, without getting significant volume at each domain which makes optimizing very hard.
2) Niche related domains: I collected a list of supermarkets and fashion stores URLs using Similarweb and Alexa.
3) High traffic domains/Top 100 of the country: Not sure how to approach this w/o burning through money fast.
The minimum bid on 50onred is 0.002, so I feel like CTR is really important to get users to the offer, as the traffic is fairly expensive.
I’ve set aside a budget of $50/day, but can and will increase that if I need to get more significant data.
Maybe someone more experienced can chime in and give his or her opinion on this. Should I just pick the top 20 domains from 2) in terms of traffic and let them spend $50 and then report back with the results or what seems to be the best course of action in this case?
Looking forward to any input.
Cheers
Good post!
Min bids on 50onRed are 0.002, 0.005 & 0.01 depending on the Geo.
On 50 I'd go RON, make sure you pass the {domain} and go from there.
So something strange is happening since yesterday, I created a few lander variations and so far they are keeping up nicely. Roughly 1% CTR on totally blind traffic, but the conversion rate has been going down ever since. From 16% down to 2%. Started splittesting a few similar offers. It seems there is nothing really steady in the world of IM.
Don't really understand whats happening here. Landers are survey style landers I'm seeing all the time. Copy fits the offer. 500 clicks sent, 25 conversions. Different networks and different offers tested aswell. At that rate there is no way I'm ever getting this profitable.
Do you mean 500 clicks through to the offer? I.e. 5% CVR?
5% CVR is particularly bad for sweepstakes on PPV...
Working backward, 5% CVR at $1.50 payout = EPC of $0.075
If you have a 1% lander CTR, that's an EPV of $0.00075, far too low @ the minimum 50onRed bid.
The weak point is definitely CTR - are there not any targets that are doing much better?
You could optimise out the low CTR sources and move profitable targets into a new campaign.
