Affiliate struggles?

What would you say is the no1 struggle for affiliate marketers?

I think it's being consistent launching campaigns even when losing money. It's a struggle to keep dumping money when you're not seeing any returns, wondering if it's even possible. But, it's probably a good thing because it keeps competition out.

I'd say having any success at all.

90+% of people who try AM will fail and move on.

So if you are persisting, you're already over the largest hurdle.

Perhaps you should better define the question - do you meant the biggest struggle for newbie affiliate marketers?

The struggles you deal with will change over time - from cashflow, to consistent testing, to scaling, to business relationships, to biz dev, to banking/taxation/offshoring, to finding time to do everything, to managing employees, etc.

I'm sure there is no one specific thing that more than say 20% of AM's consider their number one point of struggle.

My struggle at the moment is more mental - whether I continue with a particular traffic source/vertical knowing I'm only gonna make at best maybe a couple hundred a day, or ditch it and start from scratch in another place.

Staying positive and not giving up when you lose money.

If you are lucky enough to have had profitable campaigns before its easier mentally. However I can see it being a huge problem for someone starting fresh.

I made $ 4,000 in the first 2 weeks which is fine. However, I messed up some bits and pieces so I can honestly say I'm back to square one again. I need to setup my tracking again, start picking campaigns and learning another traffic source as my current one doesn't allow me to scale any bigger.

So my struggly: defining a long-term strategy and structure work.

The common themes seem to be procrastination and lack of action...

Definitely agree. The main struggle is keeping your mind positive in during the bad times (which is OFTEN) in affiliate marketing.

Unlike other jobs/business where profit is usually a slow increase over years. This is up and down, and quite often the down periods are long and slow while the high periods are big $ and fast.

Definitely the optimism throughout dry patches, but also when things are working well a struggle, well for me and a few, maybe not for all is the solo working environment. I used to be hell unproductive, was too easy to say yes to things outside of work. Keeping a good flow/routine I think is vital for an affiliate working solo at home
