Hi everyone,
Figured how to call user data on my lander, woohoo.
Question is, from your experience, what's better --> hello android user or hello google nexus 5 user?
In short, call the user os or go more specific to the model itself?
I know you can test it, but I'd like your default choice based on what's been working before.

Can't say I have split-test it but I would put my money on being more specific.
"Your Samsung Galaxy S3 Could Run 27% Faster"
sounds a lot more appealing than
"Your Android Phone Could run 27% Faster"
It depends on MANY factors...offer, landing page, geo ec. In some cases not calling out anything actually works better
You will never win at this if you don't test all of them for yourself.
By and large more specific will win, but as deondup says, you should always test this.
Make sure that whatever you're using to output the make and model of the phone is doing so in a human-readable format, too. A lot of mobile detection scripts won't output "Google Nexus 4", they'll output something like "LGE960", which won't work as well.
It's definitely up in the air, but if i had to take a guess i'd say calling the device model will convert stronger in most case against calling out just "Android"
A LOT of times the device callout will be inaccurate or look like a device model GT3100 like Caurmen pointed out.
That's why it may not work that well when you try and call out exact device.
You'd be surprised how many (older) users have NO IDEA what phone model they have.
