Which Creatives Are Converting? POF, Voluum (5)

I want to know which of my creatives are actually converting.

I'm not sure how this is normally done. Here's my guess. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

1. In POF, add query parameter to the click-thru URL to indicate which ad/creative it is. For example: http://abc.trackvoluum.com/abc-123-xyz?ad=creative-1
2. In Voluum, modify the traffic source POF by adding a custom variable: parameter = ad, placeholder = {ad}, name = ad

Then in Voluum, I should be able to view the report for my campaign and group by "V1: ad". Is that right?

You should be doing this for every traffic source you ever use.

1. In Traffic Sources (Voluum), edit PoF and add a new custom parameter called creative. For the placeholder use something like CREATIVE without {}.

2. When you make ads in PoF, in your Voluum campaign link there will be something like ...&creative=CREATIVE. Edit that to identify your ad to Voluum, e.g. &creative=US_M_abc1

Consider also using something like PoFPro that is specifically tailored to running, tracking and optimising campaigns on PoF.

Pretty much what zeno said, but you also have the option of using {creativeid:} instead of changing the creative name for every ad. so would look like &creative={creativeid:}

In fact, always use creative-identifying tokens instead, where possible.

In this specific case, having run POF a fair bit, I'd recommend using human-readable tokens instead of the creativeid ( &creative=US_M_abc1, as Zeno says)

Try both, and see which works for you, but I've always found having to hunt for creativeids through your POF campaigns to be a total pain in the ass. It's much simpler just to be able to scan your list of creatives in your tracker and say "aha, US_RussianBrides_Blonde_MILF_3 is doing really well" than having to go "Oh, creative hy0a9utg-098aquw09t7u is doing well... and I have no idea which one that is without opening a separate website".

POFpro makes this entire process significantly easier, btw. I highly recommend it.
