curious, how do I find contacts for going direct with an advertiser? like some of these apps on the play store
How much volume are you doing?
You normally should be doing very large volumes for this to make sense (maybe 10%+ of total leadflow for the client).
To find advertiser you need to HUSTLE and do some tech.
Google search the domain+company/LinkedIN/Facebook/Whois/Paid searches/Reverse lookups.. etc..
When you do get a number you have to call and make sure you get to the right person and have a gameplan of what you want and what you can provide.. Why is it worth them going through the hassle of going direct with you.
Note: Don't even bother emailing.
thanks, I'm just expanding my knowledge flow/base for when I need this info, so I know how to do it when I need to..... just advanced thinking about possibilities in negotiating direct buys or upping spend to grab more traffic.
Out of curiosity, has anyone experienced backlash from affiliate networks when going direct with the advertiser?
Most of the affiliate network terms include language prohibiting affiliates from soliciting advertisers for some time period (e.g. 6 months). Do networks actually enforce this?
To me, going direct is a bit of a Catch22: When you have volume significant enough to go direct is the exact time you need the network to manage risk & cash flow.
As a side note, I went direct on a US financial lead-gen offer a few years ago (offer wasn't on networks): conversion rates were literally double or triple what I was getting on comparable offers at networks...
