Find out if competitors are promoting their FB posts (4)

Does anyone know if it's possible to find out if specific posts from a competitor's FB page have received a boost/promotion? I follow a handful of competitors via the insights tool and would love to find which of their top posts got promoted.

I don't believe so - that would give you a bit too much insight into the advertising activities of someone else.

You could of course like them on FB and then see what sponsored stuff appears in your news feed.

Arent they marked as promoted if you look at the top right of each post?

That may work for some campaigns, but it assumes that they promote to their fans only. If a post receives a ton of engagement from a small fan base, most likely they'll promote to non-fans at which point you'd have to hope that you're part of their targeting. Agree on FB not giving away that info, but thought there may be some tool out there tracking FB ads.


IF you have been targeted and see the post, then yes, it'll show that it was promoted. But if you just look at your competitor's top 10 posts of the week (via insights, or on their page), you'll just see their organic posts (assuming they posted it organically and boosted it at the same time). Many times I see posts that appear to be organic posts with suspiciously high engagement after only 1-2 hours of being posted. It would be great to somehow use a tool that shows you whether that particular post has received some sort of promotion.
