Hi Guys,
I’m new to the community and I do apologize if these questions have been addressed previously. I’m in need of additional clarification; any help would be greatly appreciated.
1. When it comes to Landing Pages, do I create one with every campaign? Ex. One landing page per campaign. Or do I create a landing page for each segment I target in the campaign? Ex. Males 25+ in Canada get its own landing page and Males 18-24 get their own landing page.
As well, should each landing page be different in terms of layout and creative look?
2. I know we use subdomains to track where our traffic is coming from. But with the subdomains, do we attach them to our landing pages?
3. For a newbie like me, how many ads do you suggest I run with my first campaign? I’m hoping to launch my first campaign on Friday. Still in the process of configuring and understanding the tracking system (Prosper202).
FYI, the traffic source I have decided to go with is Facebook.
1. Landing pages are just pages you send people to.
You can make as many as you want.
You don't need to make one for every 'campaign' (you should define what you mean by 'campaign' since it is a vague term) as you can send all traffic to one.
This is where a tracking system works wonders by keeping track of all your data for different segments, landing pages, banners, etc.
For your example, you would have one physical lander in one location on your server, but two campaigns (in your tracking system for example) that point to that lander.
If you want dynamic lander components you can use javascript/PHP code to pull out things like cities, countries or e.g. Male 25+ so that one single lander appears differently depending on who loads it.
2. I'm not sure where you picked this up, but a subdomain is basically like a desktop shortcut that just points to somewhere on your server.
They have no inherent attachment to anything other than that - you can have 6,000 landers all inside the folder on your server that bob.domain.com points to.
3. Try to launch at least 5 unique images and therefore ads.
You may want to start a follow-along for your campaign to get my comprehensive guidance.
Thanks Zeno! Will definitely start a follow-along for my campaign.
