I don't know if this is possible, but can anybody tell me how to get a .au (either .org.au or .com.au) domain?
I don't live in Australia.
I don't think you can without providing an Australian tax/business number of sorts.
Best bet is to ask one of the Aussies here if they can buy one for you. Shouldn't be too hard!
