Things You Learn Designing Porn Banners for a Living.

Hilarious Read:

Everyone has to make a living. Some do this by making garish gifs of young women gratefully covered in jizz, alongside phrases like “stop jerking off” and “horny bitches in your area.” One of those people is a young Jewish lady: an illustrator and graphic designer who didn’t even know what “amateur” meant when she first got into the porn banner game.

Adi Aviram was on vacation in Berlin and needed a job that didn’t require her to speak German. There weren’t many options. Then Adi’s friend, who worked in online trafficking, hooked her up with a job designing porn banners. At least she got to use her degree. VICE spoke to Adi about the initial thrill and then depressing reality of Photoshopping "amateur" sex all day long.

"I made gifs of a naked Snow White." - Adi Aviram

Hahaha, she's creative.

the last sentence from that article got me thinking hmm

"I’m actually an illustrator, but there’s no money in that during wartime. People don’t pay for art: they pay for sex and war."

Speaking as a filmmaker: this is 100% legit.

For a low budget live-action filmmaker looking for a reliable genre, I've heard it said that there are essentially two classifications of film: PG (stands for "Plenty of Guns") and T&A (stands for... yep, you guessed it).

I'd maybe add BoG (Buckets o' Gore) into that list, but it's essentially accurate.

"People don’t pay for art: they pay for sex and war."
Is so dark.

Lol small world!

The girl in the article used to work for me and my partner and indeed created some good banners.

She learned a lot but I doubt it's something the wants to write on her resume

Haha fucking hell, this industry!

That Photoshop looks very much like my Mac on a Monday afternoon, though.

I try to get my 'creative' work done before my girlfriend gets home. Otherwise, as soon as I hear her coming upstairs, it's a mad rush -- minimise, minimise, minimise! -- and the fear of Photoshop crashing gives me palpitations.

Or worse, when I've been slapping together a few banners on my Macbook, and I head in to a coffee shop without minimising Photoshop beforehand...

Flip the Macbook up, realise what's on the screen, and slam it down in a hurry with Latte flying everywhere.

Haha this is so spot on it's not even funny.

Fuckin Photoshop, amirite?

Yeah, I've gotta believe it's destroyed at least one healthy relationship over the years.

Ticking time bomb.

Hahaha Finch i'm in the same boat as you... Leave the adult adspy open and the GF glances over... Big mess. Although she doesn't have a problem with the business and knows about it. Seeing those local sluts within 3 miles of my location can really set of a bomb sometimes "I DONT THINK IT'S MORALLY OKAY TO CALL WOMEN SLUTS ON THE INTERNET." Well shit.

Also thank god for corner spots in cafés!

Hahaha that's so different to my life. I'll have like twenty different adult banners open when my husband walks into the office.

Him: are those...
Me: yuuuuuuup
Him: I thought so

I have a lot of images/banners scattered everywhere. desktop, my documents etc. let alone browser history.

heart skips a beat when someone asks if they can use my computer.

I have come across that article b4 and i just knew it was somehow gonna link back to STM
and i was right hahaha

Man, that sounds stressful!

My gf's cool with the industry, which is nice. Although I did once have a nasty moment when I was opening up Photoshop to do some work whilst we were staying with her mother...

haha I have just read the comments in here . I am completely new to AM and have been investigating things over the past few days. I have been looking at the adult niche and my most recent thoughts had been about what if someone uses my pc ? what if we are away on holiday an dI want to do a campaign while at someone else's house ? how do you explain what you do when people ask about your extra income ?
