Hey guys, was just wondering how important it is to be proficient in HTML with regards to success with affiliate marketing. I know photoshop is important, but read the beginners guide which said Adobe Muse is sufficient for getting campaigns up and running. Is muse enough to be successful (given consistent hard work)? Or do you think I'll need to learn how to write HTML code and how to use DreamWeaver as well?
I think you should understand the basics of HTML.
What on earth it is, how it works. How Javascript and CSS fit in, what they do, their limitations, as well as how PHP code fits into it.
Outside of placing tracking scripts and simple edits, I don't think you need to know HTML/CSS.
But, if you use Muse, you should be comfortable enough with ripping the code apart afterward and tweaking the CSS, i.e. removing a tonne of it, to keep things lightweight.
In the future when you are doing more volume you can just outsource a designer/coder to handle this kind of stuff for you - and can whip up designs/mockups for them to turn into reality.
To echo what Zeno has said, well worth understanding the basics of HTML.
I joined this forum knowing absolutely nothing about coding, banners, landing pages etc but did have a huge desire to learn and, ultimately earn.
If you google Code Academy or W3 Schools they have a ton of good stuff on there.
When I joined this forum I knew NOTHING about HTML. Now, I'm able to use "Inspect Element" in Firefox and just about understand what it all means
