Manage Your Passwords Properly - Get Lastpass Premium FREE!

I have used LastPass for years and love it.

Great password manager, saves time, easy to generate complex passwords and save data, form info, CC details, etc.

Android/iOS apps available and all synced with the cloud.

I posted this simply because I stumbled across this: http://www.appsumo.com/lastpass/

It's only of $12/year value, but LastPass premium is definitely worth it -- especially if you haven't yet optimised your password management approach.

And since it's FREE to new customers right now, this pitch will likely be 697% more effective.

Thanks for this!

Looks interesting. So far I'm using KeePass (free version) which is desktop, so the data is local.

Will give a shot at this one, seems like the integration with browser is really worth a try.

In KeePass, you need to press certain shortcut to autofill the browser. But on the plus side, it can autofill a desktop application as well. Not limited to browser only.

Probably will move all browsers detail to LastPass, and keep the rest in KeePass.

Hm... dual maintenance

In what situation will you ever need many local/desktop app passwords, at least relative to your online logins?

I have hundreds of accounts/passwords saved for websites, but have virtually no desktop app passwords other than Creative Cloud, Windows login, Steam/Origin and servers. The latter can be saved through mRemoteNG, and all the others can be auto-saved (and looked up online if ever forgotten).

Most of the desktop app is office's local apps.

Plus like what you mentioned, some games, messengers, etc.

For all not browser, how do you auto-saved the username password in LastPass?

From what I understand, it's similar, just that LastPass is using cloud, whereas KeePass keeps the database locally + it can autofill any apps (desktop/web etc.).
And I'm assuming KeePassX is the same with KeePass(?)

Nobody uses 1password in here? Not sure how lastpass compares to this but I absolutely love it.

You can add sites manually (and favourite them) or add it as a secure note.

I've been using Lastpass for years and it's extremely helpful when you're working with a team. It allows me to share my accounts without having to share my passwords. I can select who has access to what and revoke their access when necessary.

Wow, I didn't even know that. Very useful for sharing logins with devs and VAs. Thank you!

I was using Lastpass but it was conflicting with my firefox and Antivirus so ended up removing it. It was good when it was working and maybe that issue is sorted now.

If your AV is causing problems with something like LastPass... I would switch Antivirus haha.

I just use MSE i.e. Windows Defender now -- I am of the opinion that the best antivirus you can get is not software -- it's you.

That and the NoScript plugin -- if I wanted to protect my mum from malware I think NoScript would be more preventative.
