Hi,
I have setup prosper202.
I used an old domain (related to toothbrushes) and put it on the subdomain.
Does it matter that the tracking link is now (example)
http://prosper202.toothbrush.com/tra...id=514&t202kw=
presumably this is the URL people will see when the click on the link, does this have much of an effect on conversions?
They'll only see it very briefly before it redirects. It won't have much of an effect.
If it shows up as the URL on your Facebook ads, that might be more of an issue.

is there anything that can be done about that? what is the general recommendation for domains/prosper202 so it can be as generic as possible?
sorry further follow up - is prosper the best thing to use with facebook? if not i will go ahead and install something else.
What tracking system you use doesn't really matter - it's up to you.
I wouldn't worry about the domain name, just make it sensible.
Furthermore, the RHS is crap right now compared to the NF, so again, it's not that important.
