So my friend does sports handicapping in his spare time; makes picks for NFL, College etc. He wants me to help him build a website and sell his picks online.
I think it's a pretty meh idea and probably wont even sell all that well but I'd like to help him out. My main question is: Will Facebook allow you to promote a site that sells sports betting picks in the US?
I've looked over the T+C and I can't seem to find anything that would prohibit that, unless you consider this "gambling", but nothing we would be selling directly constitutes gambling of any kind. Still though, I feel like they might have a problem with it and I don't really want to get my account banned.
Thoughts?
Selling a list of sports betting picks is considered promoting gambling, in the same way selling a list of children's home addresses is considered promoting pedophilia. Move on or cloak creatively. I don't think this is profitable, your account will be put at risk.
Yep, would get classed as gambling.
If you really want to run it you will want to get in touch with Facebook directly as a small business/agency, and explain your goals + the product you want to promote.
If you are transparent and they allow it, you will be less likely to get canned out of nowhere.
thanks for the input (and the amusing analogy)
