I'm trying to fund my Leadbolt account, but it's coming up with paypal amount +10%GST. Anyone experience this?
Are you based in the same country as their business?
I don't use Leadbolt but in NZ retailers have to charge GST to consumers.
As a business you can claim this back at the end of the month (or e.g. every 60 days).
Furthermore, businesses don't charge it to other businesses as this would create undue paperwork/time wasting.
Perhaps you should just get in touch with their support!
I think GST is only for Canadians..
@Zeno
Canadian businesses charge other canadian business 13% GST (now known as HST) because Canada likes to make things complicated for no reason.
Lol Canadians.
We certainly have GST in NZ, but I guess almost every country has some equivalent and/or multiple taxes that vary at the state level
And then there's VAT...
it's because they are an AU company. If they are a PTY LTD they have to charge GST.
Is everyone paying this GST?
In Canada, if both parties are located in Canada, (ie, you are in Canada, and you are buying traffic from a Canadian company), they they must charge you GST, which you should be able to claim later. I would imagine, it is the same with other countries. quantum27 - where are you located? If you are in a different country than Leadbolts country of billing, perhaps its set up in paypal (of your country) to charge the GST.
Yeah, Leadbolt is an Australian company, I remember I used to have to pay the GST when I was living there, then when I moved to Canada I stopped since obviously they don't have to charge GST to foreign entities.
