I know a lot of IM/AM seems very difficult, especially when you are starting out. It may seem like you need a degree from MIT to master some of the concepts, or to have been born "smart" to succeed. I can say from personal experience that both in IM/AM and in life ... this is simply not true.
I got a great email today from Salman Khan, the founder of Khan Academy. In it, he writes:
This is a myth. Research now shows that your brain is like a muscle; the more you apply it and struggle, the more it grows. People who learn to recognize this fact about their own brain develop a ‘growth mindset’ and are able to persevere and achieve more.
Imagine what the world would look like if everyone knew what they were capable of and had the mindset to learn anything."
In short, you CAN learn anything. I personally know plenty of people who have succeeded in IM/AM with no college degree ... indeed some who did not graduate even from high school. And I know plenty of people who failed in IM/AM with Ivy League degrees. Smart or not smart really matter a lot less in life than people think.
What matters a whole a lot more are mindset, perseverance and will.
Posts like these always make me realize how AM is just the start, there's a lot more that can be done in life with the right mindset.
One of the top affiliates i know dropped out of school in Grade 9 to focus fulltime on work.
Very motivational video!
Btw I am curious, how do you end up finding all these great videos / articles all the time?
Well, I read an article today about some test they ran with 4 year old children.
If children at that age draw (for example) a very detailed person instead of a simple not so detailed person, it's statistically proven that they at the age of 14 have way better scores at school.
They think it's genetics...
So I guess a coin has 2 sides here...
Reading this from MIT campus lol
Great video, especially to start the day! Everyone starting in AM should watch this. Heck, anyone starting a business should watch it! Thanks for sharing.
Nice share cmdeal ! I agree. Im is all about persistence and risk tolerance imo.
For some reason I can't see any video in this thread. Could someone please link me?
