[Buzzcity] fraud traffic

Wasn't really planning on posting this, but since I think they didn't handle this adequately I'll share it with you Stackers.

I’ve bought for a little over $1200 worth of traffic in the UK on Buzzcity these last couple of days, after 3 days I noticed that almost all of this traffic was coming from 2 pubs and 99% was from blackberry devices so I’ve contacted Buzzcity with the question if this was good quality traffic or if I should be worried. I basically got an email that the traffic was legit so I continued running it (2 separate campaigns for BB and Android/iOS traffic).

After a week the advertiser called stating that I should stop sending them traffic since it is all fraud traffic from Nigeria. Fair enough, you don’t want Nigerian subscriptions to a UK offer, I got an IP list of the leads and it turned out that of the 500leads 0 leads were actually from the UK.

Anyways I confronted Buzzcity and sent them the IP list asking for a refund. Long story short there will be no refund, no fraud traffic has been detected because they “cannot guarantee accurate targeting of countries when targeting Blackberry traffic”. I of course countered by saying that 0% of the traffic was from the country I was targeting and even after asking if the traffic was “crap” they didn’t warn me.

Is it just me or is this shady behaviour on their side? I am aware that I risk getting traffic from different geo's when targeting blackberry traffic , but we are not talking about part of the traffic I bought or a few rotten pubs, but basically all of their traffic I bought. On top of that I wasn't warned when I specifically asked about it.

So beware and definitely do not target blackberry devices .
