Leads: Scrubbing/Shaving (13)

Leads: Scrubbing/Shaving

New to both PPV and CPA, I've begun to get a handle on what happens to submits in the backend thanks to bits and pieces of other posts on the forum. Where I used payouts as a solid indicator of where i should aim, now I am skeptical. In general with all leads can I expect the same kind of lead shaving? dating, insurance etc?

As all advertisers will want to maximize their profits I'm sure in one way or another all leads are subject to any and all scrub they can get away with. This leads me to question how reliable offers say they are (hence now I understand much better why you should test offers from different networks). Is it safe to say that sign-up or CPS offers are much more stable?

If many of the numbers shown cannot really be trusted, is there any way to glean any useful information. Relatively you might know that submit A performs better than submit B, but beyond that will it really just take testing to figure out how exactly it performs w metrics?

Part of me doesn't want to have such a big hidden variable in my path. I'd rather list-build on my own or stick to CPS types of deals, etc. I guess what I'm struggling with is that many people say email submits are best for PPV, but if im getting scrubbed to hell it will not be profitable (unless i rotate frequently between networks before a quality check?). All signs say dating and gaming are a little more reliable, but I have yet to test this. What has everyone else seen?

Nah , no need to move completely to CPS. You can still have a lot of success with CPA offers.

Just have to split test a ton to squeeze all the $$ you can.

If you want niches strong for PPV go for finance , mobile , dating and edu.

scubbing is the nature of CPA marketing....

BUT

plenty of money to be made.....its just part of the equation....and there are many ways to get around scrubbing....(rotating dif networks, going direct, etc...)

Had a question related to scrubbing and didn't want to start another thread for just one question.

So here's my questions:

1. Are there certain types of cpa offers that DO NOT get scrub? I know that email/zip gets SCRUB for sure but what about 2 page submits or short lead form?

2. Do the advertiser and network scrub anyone and everyone or are there a select few who don't get scrub as in ( super affiliates bringing in $XXXXX per day ) ?

I run my offers on the HasOffers platform directly with advertisers; there's no scrubbing feature and conversions would have to be removed manually.

If you worry about scrubbing why not just give the advertiser an email and go direct?

Can't the advertiser just remove the fireback pixel from the offer page so the leads don't process?

Trust me they wouldn't want to, check out my terms,

"Unless otherwise stated in writing by AdPuppies Affiliate Network, each Ad used by AdPuppies Affiliate Network in connection with an Ad Campaign must include, in unaltered form, the special transaction tracking computer code provided by AdPuppies Affiliate Network ("Ad Codes"). Advertiser will not knowingly modify, circumvent, impair, disable or otherwise interfere with any Ad Codes and/or other technology and/or methodology required or made available by AdPuppies Affiliate Network to be used in connection with any and all Ads. In connection with CPA-based Ad Campaigns, Advertiser agrees to pay AdPuppies Affiliate Network a default payment of Fifty Cents ($0.50) CPC on a net thirty (30) day basis in instances where conversion data cannot be supplied due to a failure of the Ad Codes and Advertiser's inability to provide such information, in the alternative."

Are the scrub rate for a $1.50 email submit and a $2.60 address submit about the same? I want to promote an offer that converts the way it's suppose to.

Hi
I'm interested in this method, how can i find out more ?
What should i search for in the forum' search page ? "lead generation" or "Host and Post" don't seem to bring interesting results.

BTW which networks allow me to send them leads in this way ?
I'm using Neverblue

Thanks!

He means skip the network and go direct with the advertiser.

Treating shaving and scrubbing as cost of doing business.

BUT with that being said I think the bigger issue is "LOST" leads. Pixels don't always render, cookies get clicked, even with server 2 server postback I'm seeing some discrepancy. You will be shocked at how much sales get tracked on the back end that your network NEVER gives to you. To date I've only had 2 networks that hooked me up with bonus leads at the end of the month, most keep that to themselves.

Shaving and Scrubbing are different things

Scrubbing is the act to returning leads or not firing the pixel on leads that aren't valid due to a non-working phone or bounced email.

Shaving on the other hand is all about the merchant/network trying to pad profits or make something profitable that wasn't backing out for them and they didn't want to lose the traffic.

I did a fairly extensive post about this with regards to email submits on my blog, if you're interested you can read about it here. http://www.oooff.com/php-affiliate-s...-submits-work/
