I don't use them but I would just set up the campaign a few different ways until I understood why. Notice you are bidding lower then the guy in 4th but you are in 2nd. I cannot see whats in the target column but I would guess that has something to do with it. You seem more targeted then the rest of the campaigns except the one in 4th who is actually the highest bidder but still below you.

Frequency cap is pretty low indeed.
I always start with 2 or 3 per 24 hours.
And I'm not sure but I do believe they look at your history.
If someone have spend 20k they wouldn't let someone new outbid them with a few penny of course.
But again, that's just speculation...

It's been a while since I spent any significant funds at TJ but doesn't balance play into their algorithm? The way they see it is if you have $50,000 in your account and bidding 2-3% less than someone else that has $500, they want to favor the bigger advertiser, more funds to potentially spend. I could be completely wrong of course, but that makes sense to me.

^there was a rumor going around saying you will get more traffic if you set your daily spend to 20k but turned out to be not true.
havnt ran in TJ for a while, but I recall the best way is to just match your daily spend with your actual balance to get most traffic

It doesn't depend on the budget you put but the funds you have on your account.
If you bid a few pennies more than your competitor but have let's say $500 in your account and your competitor had $50k he will get the most.
Their algo takes into consideration your available funds, frequency cap, bid, isp targeting and banner ctr.
Need to maximize all those to be on the top.

Hi pascalos
As a matter of fact, it must be due to the frequency cap...
let's imagine that an average user sees 10 video pages a day (I don't have the exact average). If you have 2 spots on a video page, that would mean that you would be competing for 1/20th of the impressions.
Also, the budget / funds come into account:
It doesn't depend on the budget you put but the funds you have on your account.
If you bid a few pennies more than your competitor but have let's say $500 in your account and your competitor had $50k he will get the most.

This is partially true

What actually happens is that, in order to maximize the inventory for all bidders, our algorithm checks how many impressions one is set to buy.
This is a calculation based on all the bids live for that user along with the lowest of the following: bid & budget.
In other words, if you have $100k in your account and a $20k daily budget with an average cpm of $1 (to make it simple), you are trying to buy 20M impressions that day (based on budget).
If you have $5k in your account, a $20k daily budget with an average CPM of $1, our system calculates that you are trying to buy 5M impressions that day (based on funds).
If you have $100k in your account, a $1k daily budget with an average CPM of $1, our system calculates that you are trying to buy 1M impressions that day (based on budget).
Therefore, the first advertiser would get priority placement so we can deliver the most impressions possible for all advertisers.

Deposit $10K there. Setting daily budget to 20k when u only have 200 bucks there on your account.. means nothing for them.
Also, maybe the other guy has been running that camp for a while.
Up freq cap to 2 or 3 per day, deposit more money, let the camp run smoothly for a few days.

Also another remark, I noted on the image that you selected keywords/channels (the image is a bit small for me to make out exactly what it is).
If you selected a small niche, this might have a negative impact on the volume available to you.

For now it is per ad.
We are working on a campaign level setting.
