Looking For A Mentor To Help Get Started
Hi All,
So I have been doing lots of reading but am still a bit lost on certain aspects (especially tracking).
I am wondering if someone with experience would add me on skype so I could fire off a few questions and then I will be on my way.
Hopefully this shouldn't take long if someone would be so kind
.
Thanks.

Being the answers you'll get useful for other members too, probably you should just post them in the forum

Hey, why not try asking them on the forums? I am sure you will get better and faster answers.

Thanks guys.
Ok So I am already stressing over the first hurdle which is picking a niche.
I am on several networks atm but not sure where to start.
Should I be avoiding comm of sale as it is a much harder sell (pardon the pun) than a sign up?
Thanks

Definitely. Start with low payout CPA offers unless you have a huge budget for testing.

Do sweepstakes and email submits generally do OK on facebook? That's about all I can find that is not sales commission.
Thanks

Sweepstakes, app installs, games, email submits and lead gen, all do well.

Just be careful with the specific offers you try.
Most sweeps/email submit offers you find on affiliate networks are very low quality, red-rated on MyWoT, and provide virtually no value to users.
Facebook will not be nice to you if you try to run those.
Sweepstakes and email submissions are fine in theory, but the affiliate world is flooded with bad ones.

Ok So I have my first campaign up and running on Facebook. It is an offer with a $1 trial recommended by my AM.
It is high payout (I know everyone says go for a low pay out to start but this offer looks decent).
I will let it run for a day or 2 and see what needs to be done.
I have not go full tracking on my landing page as I just wanted to get the campaign up and running first and hopefully will set this up tomorrow.

Are you using a tracking system at all?
I cannot stress enough that you must make sure you have checked this offer on MyWoT, have geo-redirection in place and well-understood, and know how the offer is viewed within Facebook's advertising guidelines.
Time and time again people rush into Facebook helter skelter and wonder why, three days later, their account is banned.

I am going to setup tracking with prosper202 today.
Do I need geo-redirection setup? I am only advertising in the right countries for the offer?
Also...do you guys use the banners supplied by the advertiser or do you always make your own?
Thanks

Mistake #1: Assuming that where you are advertising to means anything whatsoever in the context of Facebook's automatic checking and their reviewer locations.
If you target Ecuador, do you think they wait for a reviewer in Ecuador to check the ads?
No.
So, the ads get checked automatically by servers in the US, UK, Singapore, etc. and they get bounced to a non-compliant page > account ban central.
Don't make this mistake. Ensure every single click goes to the compliant offer page.

99.9% of affiliates ignore stock creatives and will only touch them if they have no other choice.
They typically suck and have already been exposed to a lot of eyes.
Make your own.

Ok guys so last night I came across an affiliate network here in Europe that does a lot of major brands including tesco, paddy power etc.
I know you can't advertise gambling on Facebook so what would be the best option traffic wise for this to pursue? Or should I cloak it?
Thanks

Don't attempt it on FB.
Trying to cloak out of the gate is a sure way to learn very little, and likely throw away $$ and accounts.
