Having a hard time getting (instable) UK traffic to convert (6)

Having a hard time getting (instable) UK traffic to convert

So I bought a bunch of Desktop UK traffic for 30 days from 1 spot.
The price is good and normally within a few days I get it profitable and enjoy being a CPA marketer.

Well, not this time...

I generated a bunch of banners on different angles, I created multiple campaigns, many landing pages etc. (The way it should work)

And sometimes it did work. CTR's of above 35% and conversion rates upto 6/7% on SOI offers.
So I thought I cracked the code.

The next day the CTR of those same landers dropped to below 20% and conversion rates to about 2%
So I switched landers and banners until I got it working again, but again, after a day or so it's dead again.
I have worked in a few countries but have never seen something instable as this.

Then my CPA company Skyped me and said "Dude, you're sending a LOT of mobile traffic and the advertiser doesn't allow this".
Since I almost never do mobile I didn't set-up any redirects for this.
So after I enable the tracking of mobile in my CPVlabs I noticed that ....... 52% was mobile traffic!!

Huh, on a Desktop buy?

So I redirected the traffic to mobile landing pages and offers and thought I cracked the code...
But again... one day something works awesome, the next day it fails like hell.
This country is eating up so much time that the other campaigns are getting behind.
So I'm making less profit profit per day now , even on days that the UK is profitable.

Perhaps someone has some insights for me on the UK country that might help me to get this more stable?

Thanks guys,
Dennis

When you have the entire placement to yourself, it's natural that you're going to have to work overtime keeping creatives fresh. The frequency cap is non-existent.

I don't think this is a country-specific issue. The UK behaves pretty predictably compared to some European geos.

It could just be that the spot isn't suitable, or the traffic is too expensive.

If you're having to change the entire funnel every day then it's probably not worth the bother -- especially if your other campaigns are suffering.

I find it helps to ignore the day-to-day ROI and look instead at weekly ROI, or even monthly ROI.

This is particularly true if you are running 20-25 small campaigns in different countries. It's easy to think you're doing well when you see 15 of them making a profit. But if the others are leaking cash, then you're constantly going to be putting out small fires and finding it impossible to scale.

I believe I have about 20% of the impressions (serving about 1.4 million impressions per day).
You're right about the cap , but I see other people running the same creatives/landers every day, so it seems to be working for them.

I saw a post about stress testing the tracking and hosting servers to see if there's an issue.
I've uploaded a picture in that thread because I didn't understand 1 segment.

Sounds like an adserver that can freq cap and rotate creatives, as well as deal with different traffic platforms, would save you a lot of time here?

True, but they don't allow an AD server, only their own AD system...

Well shit haha, that's a pain.

If it happens repeatedly then it's probably not worth your time, unless it's making major moolah.

That or you could pester them to let you drop ad server tags else you are going bye bye.
