Hey guys,
A bit of an intro first:
In the recent past I was a top performing car salesman in Canada banking 6 figures. Long story short, on a trip to Mexico I fell for a Swedish girl and ended up moving to Sweden (wtf, I know). I have been absolutely lost in Sweden trying to get something going for me here offline and nothing is working out, the language, different customs, "insert another excuse here". I refuse to go back to mediocrity.
Anyways, I have always had the idea in the back of my mind that I could take my offline skills (list building, direct marketing for car sales) to the net to do AM but never really had a reason to try as I was living well and very complacent. Now I see the bank account dropping weekly and really want to get something going. I am hungry and I want it like I did at the start of my sales career.
Good things: I have a lot of idea's for angles, I can write good copy and I know how to use psychology.
Things to improve: No SEO experience, very little website experience, not so technical.
So, I spent the last two weeks fumbling around for any info I could (stackthatmoney is the most phenomenal resource yet, wish I found it at the beginning). I read through the smartpassiveincome blog which preaches niche website building, SEO methods, and adsense monetization / passive advertising. I thought that was gold, bought 2 websites, taught myself wordpress and started writing articles. Quickly I have realized, that is a hell of a lot of work if you don't outsource it and for the most part I don't really enjoy the process. I am a salesman, I want to sell something.
Next, I took one of the websites, signed up for clickbank and taught myself how to make a squeeze page. Just finished yesterday, would love some opinions:

I am promoting The Venus Factor. For the last 24 hours I have been fighting with Facebook trying to get an ad approved, finally managed to make a bunch of my own through Pixlr that they approve of only to have them disapproved after 12 hours. Got fed up. Found stackthatmoney this morning. Have decided to try PoF with the methods in the getting started guide from STM.
So, current promotion: The Venus Factor through Clickbank.
Female, 35-55 (my rep at Venus Factor says this is by far the highest demos), weight at "prefer not say", average, above average and targeting Canada only for the moment as its a market I am comfortable with.
-The one minor inconvenience with Venus Factor is they say you an only use there banners for ads. This cuts down the angles considerably I think. But as I am just starting I want to get one campaign going so I can get a really good feel for the process before scaling anything down the line.
-Currently set at 20 USD a day, a 7 day campaign using all 6 banners provided by my rep.
Questions for the audience:
-Do many people have good response with direct linking Clickbank items? Obviously there are a lot of factors here, but is there success to be found in your honest opinion?
-Thoughts on my squeeze page? Should I be pushing people through the squeeze page instead so I can build my direct marketing list for backend action? I was thinking to split test and see the difference in conversions between the squeeze page and Venus Factors top converting page knowing that an email list is a very valuable thing for profits at a later time.
Any general advice or thoughts? I love constructive criticism.
Thanks a lot!
Welcome to STM!
I am from Canada, from a sales background (Yellowpages and Hosting) and I fell for a girl in Serbia, and moved here to Serbia over 9 years ago.
SEO is dead, you don't want to go there. Affiliate marketing is great, but requires a lot of micro management (so unless you want to dedicate your life to the computer, you need a team to manage the campaigns) -- way to passive income is your own info product, you got it right CLickBank is an awesome place. List building is also brilliant.
I actually have an info product mastermind going, add me on skype and we will be happy to have you: attilaodri
Again.. welcome

Hello and welcome to STM!
First tip: promoting high payout offers is expensive (assuming that you haven't promoted them before and don't have any hidden tricks). Because you need to get your data to statistical significance, you have to spend a lot of money testing, in direct proportion to the offer's payout.
See http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread...e-Often-Better
I'd recommend starting on a lower payout offer whilst you're learning. Lower payout does not mean lower profit.
Good luck! Looking forward to hearing how you get on, and if you have any questions, please do ask!
