So i was one of the guys, who was more then happy about this announcement.
I made some new campaigns to see how the ad scheduling works. I wouldnt recommend changing it on running campaigns, i got a huge mess in pricing changing my daily budget campaigns to lifetime schedule.
BUT on new campaigns i have my first stats and these are impressing. My feeling: they improved lifetime a lot compared to daily. I also noticed lifeitme the ads are getting clicks after around 20-30 minutes of turning the campaign on. With daily its 75-90 minutes. I have one Pay per call offer im running and its only between 10am-7pm. Big ups for the ad scheduling for this offer.
More observations, results will come shortly! So far so satisfying!

It looks like a great addition, though it would be nice if they could use it with daily budgets too, where the delivery algorithms take into account the non-continuous scheduling and get ads into the delivery queue quicker + don't burst traffic.
