Use Voluum for Pay Per Call?
Anyone using Voluum for Pay Per Call? Any tips, helpful hints or pitfalls to avoid? The technical side is my weakness and I look at Voluum and want to just hire someone to set it up!

You'd need to have a postback URL system setup I guess, which wouldn't be too hard but definitely will be if you aren't PHP savvy.
You'd only be able to track conversions, not multiple steps in the funnel.

I've never heard of anyone using Voluum for pay per call.
If you're using RingPools to track conversions you could place a pixel or use postback, but I wouldn't rely on it.
Maybe if you explain what you're trying to do we could come up with a solution for tracking?

For PPC, on Google, you can use their conversion tracking. They allow for duration tracking. However, it's more accurate with more volume. At lower volume levels they don't always use their forwarding numbers.
Check out this video on Adwords conversion tracking for pay per call -

You can use RingPools from Invoca, but this only works if you're sending traffic to a landing page. It won't work on call extensions, since you need a static phone number.

I have talked to Google and for the ""click to call" campaigns, they don't track and deeper than ad group. I called ClickPath and they told me that they can track phone call conversions down to keyword, for the tidy sum of $599/month. My volume isn't quite at a level to justify that monthly spend.

Correct. I talked to Jon @ RP yesterday and he told me the same thing - RingPools works if sending to landing page first. However, majority of my traffic is "click to call" so it's going directly from ad to phone call. Ideally, would like to find something that tracks where the "click to call" came from. Down to the ad and keyword.

The one keyword per adgroup trick works reasonably well.

Makes sense. Are you using any tracking software?

May be tough to optimize/scale the campaigns with this strategy. My first campaign got more than 5000 keywords in different match types!

Update: I have decided to take @RingPartners advice (Thanks!) and use Google call forwarding for tracking purposes. At least with that method, I can set the parameters for a "call conversion" in terms of length of call.

Glad to hear this helps, I hope it works out!
You'll also want to focus on mobile traffic. Use the +300% mobile bid adjustment, un-check search partners, and use a bad ad (non mobile preferred) in every ad group.

@ringpartner what do you mean by use a bad ad (non mobile preferred) in every ad group?

@matthavok you need to create a desktop ad that doesn't get clicks. You want that ad to show up in a lower position on desktop, to ensure you get mobile clicks only.
This does create an issue, since it will affect your QS. You'll be fighting against yourself a bit, but you'll get 95-99% mobile clicks.
You can see what I mean, here in this video:

Thanks. Probably because I used a link that started at about 29 minutes in, where I talk about Adwords for pay per call.
Cheers!
