My Countdown to 80K profit in 6 months mainly with mobile!

Hey guys ,
I'm new here but not new in the affiliate marketing industry, I have been a member in a different AM forum .
But they were really strong with ppv traffic and I was doing ppv for 1-2 years (trafficvance / leadimpact and 50Onred) and I'm trying to focus on mobile right now .
PPV is nice I still have some profitable campaigns but the volume is so low not even close to facebook and mobile and if I want to take this business more seriously I must to find profitable campaigns on trafic source with more volume.

Ok so my goal is to make 80K profit in 6 months - 13.3K/month - 444$/day this is not gonna be easy (I'm working in a 10-6 day job - this is something I can't quit even if I 'll make 1K/day in these 6 months (this is a job that related to affiliate marketing and I'm enjoy and learning a lot from that )so that means I have only 3-4 hours a day to work on these campaigns I need to be really productive

I can't talk about the purpose why I need 80K in 6 months but I can say this goal is really important to me and gonna absolutely change my life if I'll success.

What I have :

- cpvlab + server
- Programming and photoshop knowledge.
- Android and iphone phones with VPN to spy for good mobile campaigns .
- Accounts in all the main mobile aff networks(F5,Mundomedia,clickdealer,yeahmobi etc)
- budget 15-20K
- maybe browserstack should I buy it?

I'm not going to focus on adult mobile just games and utilities
ok things I'm going to do now :

1.make a list of top or new 10 traffic source in mobile that I'm going to test
2.make a list of 5 mobile campaigns I want to test
3.make a template of income report I'll be needed to use it each day to see where am I standing .

that's it guys , I'll try my best to success I'm open for suggestions

08-03-2014 06:41 PM #2 thebrent (Member)

Very doable! I'm excited to watch this follow along.

08-03-2014 06:59 PM #3 zeno (Administrator)

Good stuff my only suggestion is to make sure you are first testing proven offers (perhaps newer ones that haven't been smashed) so that you don't bleed as much on terrible apps.

08-03-2014 08:22 PM #4 lior_o_o (Member)

So I have launched campaign in decisive (made 4 and split test the WIFI/Mobile , Site/App) and airpush(still waiting for the deposit approval)
I have deleted the bad 2 campaigns in decisive and I left with 2 after I gather some data :

Name:	2Campaigns.jpg
Views:	409
Size:	9.6 KB
ID:	3036

As you can see maybe there is a potential in those 2 , I'll make more new 3 banners with anima and I'll try to add and split test 2 landing pages .
Plus I found out all the conversions are from Android so I have blocked all the other phones , lets see how it goes !

08-04-2014 02:02 PM #5 lior_o_o (Member)

OK yesterday I have created campaign for ipad game offer , the traffic is really low and expensive and I don't see any conversions yet , I'll wait for more data .
and I have duplicate the campaign with the potential to another traffic source lets see how it will works there.

And this is so strange I have translated the 3 new banners I gave it to 2 people to translate (actually it was by mistake because a delay reply problem with one of them)
I found out that one of them scam me because they both sent me 2 completely different translation for the same banners lol Check your banners guys !

08-05-2014 04:38 PM #6 lior_o_o (Member)

Alright then I have stopped the ipad game campaign I just left with 2 mobile campaigns that I'm still testing them and trying to improve them , I'm going to launch another campaign today a game campaign for brazil I'll launch them in Decisive and leadbolt !

Stats for yesterday 4.8.14 :

total spent mobile : 10.5$
total revenue mobile : 6.9$

Desktop :
Total spent 105$
Total revenue desktop:55$

I am testing a lot of campaigns there I need to clean all the trash campaigns that take my time for nothing , also I have a private
campaign in desktop with high payout but I'm getting paid just for sale and something there is a delay in the sales.

Total Cost
115.5

Total Revenue
61.9

Total Profit
-53.6

Countdown:
80,053$ - lol

08-06-2014 06:43 PM #9 lior_o_o (Member)

have tested another mobile campaign for BR - android , tested on decisive and mobfox , no conversions and 300 clicks !!! sometimes I feel like affiliate networks don't bothering to test their own offers this is driving me nuts!
anyway I had also the campaign for MY in decisive I was break even and suddenly I don't know what happened but the campaign performance have changed from break even to -70 - -80% ROI .
I have created an amazing landing page I don't know if it worth testing it after what happened , but I think I'll test it anyway .
Just made a facebook desktop campaign I think that have a big potential , my stats from yesterday 5.8.14 :

Mobile :
total spent mobile : 31$
total revenue mobile : 4.6$

Profit : -26.4

Desktop :
Total spent 72$
Total revenue desktop:174.51$

Profit : 102.5

Total profit : 75.8
Countdown : 79,977$
I must to launch more campaigns $$$$$

08-07-2014 02:11 AM #10 dr0z (Member)

Why don't you launch more ppv campaigns? Focus more on what's making you profit now

80/20 rule. Once you hit $1k a day, I would then use some of that money for mobile testing. That's just me anyways.

I never succeed to hit 1K a day with PPV traffic there is to much competition there thats the problem .
I have no problem to spend my profit on mobile now , I'm learning a lot from each campaign , until I'll find one that will be profitable

08-07-2014 07:09 PM #12 lior_o_o (Member)

Alright ! so few good news :
1. The mobile campaign with the 0 conversions was my fault , I was targeting all phones and the app was just android (70% of the clicks have gone for nothing) so I'll retest this offer !
2.The facebook campaign I have tested is crazy! I have spent 43$ and made 150$ I have 7M Potential Audience for this ad this is never happened to me it looks to good to be true , and I'm targeting just UK I can target also AU/NZ/CA and DE/NL wow I know I need to milk it but this is kind of scary me I'm trying to raise the budget slowly.
if someone can give me tip for this one it will be great!

Stats for yesterday : 7.8.14 :

Mobile :

Mobile revenue : 0.53
Mobile Spent : 3.77

Desktop :

Desktop Revenue: 177.5
Desktop Spent : 95.87

Woo! Congrats on the successful campaign!

Now run it for a couple more days to check if it's stable, then scale, scale, scale.

08-08-2014 09:46 AM #14 lior_o_o (Member)

ty caurmen this is what I'm going to check in the next few days!

08-08-2014 01:19 PM #15 lior_o_o (Member)

alright I want to start testing the facebook campaign on DE as well so I have created creative and sent it already to translation , I need to start focus on mobile again so I'll make more 2 mobile campaigns today on MobFox and Leadbolt .

Mobile Cost: 1$
Mobile Revenue: 0$

Desktop Cost : 114.22

08-08-2014 07:22 PM #16 sleenirvana (Member)

wow looking good. How many campaign you launched the last 5 days? Direct link or with LP? Congrat. At this rate with some scaling, you gonna go over 80k in 6 months.

I'm starting with direct linking because I'm lazy if I see potential I'll split test with landing pages . I'm trying to launch as much as I can of course most of them are crap

08-09-2014 06:41 AM #18 keepthecar (Member)

I often launch campaigns without LP to save time.

You should be prepared though to adjust your view of how much potential a campaign has. For example if it does -80% after the first test it can still have potential.

really? if a campaign in the first test have -80 ROI you can you can take it to profit? I don't know if it is really worth bothering

my oldest campaigns are starting to die lately , I'm turning to red again

Yesterday Stats :

Mobile :

Mobile Cost: 16.5$
Mobile Revenue: 0$

Desktop

Desktop Cost : 128.88
Desktop Revenue:98.5

Yesterday Total Profit : -46.88$
Countdown : 79,841.21$

I guess it will be harder than I thought

08-09-2014 03:04 PM #21 caurmen (Administrator)

Don't worry about 1 day stats. Conversion rates will go up and down. Start considering whether the campaigns are dying if it's a trend over half a week or so.

Keep split testing bro! I'm sure you will get back to the green again.

08-10-2014 09:14 PM #23 lior_o_o (Member)

Hey Guys , ok first thank you for the support I'm really appreciate that , even thought I have no time I'm testing campaigns like crazy and I'm burning a lot of money but this is good I'm feeling like I'm learning a lot and having progress

So the stats for yesterday :

Mobile :

Mobile Cost: 9.33$
Mobile Revenue: 0.9$

Desktop :

Desktop Cost : 156.16
Desktop Revenue:147

Yesterday Total Profit : -17.59
Countdown : 79,858.8$

Yes , Going back but feeling good
made a lot of campaigns today , the stats are you going to see tomorrow will be the highest cost I ever had in this thread for sure !

08-11-2014 07:16 PM #24 lior_o_o (Member)

Alright , let's get down to business :
Yesterday Stats :

Mobile :

Mobile Cost: 23.99$
Mobile Revenue: 0$

Desktop :

Desktop Cost : 114.22
Desktop Revenue:219.5

Yesterday Total Profit : 104.28$
Countdown : 79,677.94$

I'm happy that I returned back to green but not quite happy :
1.because it can change back to red tomorrow from what I see
2.100$+/day is still far less from my goal (400-500$/day)
So I'll try to focus on launching more and more campaigns

Mobile conclusion :

Ok I think that I can't starting testing mobile offers anymore without landing pages a lot of people told me this is a mandatory (excluding games and really low payout offers) so from now on I'll try to make at least 1 landing page for each mobile offer I test let's see how does it goes .
Ok I'm going to test now mobile game offer on 2 different traffic sources

08-12-2014 08:38 PM #25 lior_o_o (Member)

So as you can see I use CPVLab + Dedicated server , but even thought the performance of the speed is very low I have no idea why .
I wanted to switch to Voluum while ago and Voluum + maxCDN can be cheaper and better so why not ? plus voluum have better interface and they always update the tracker so for long term this is better option anyway .
I bought 2 new short domains , and installed Voluum . Just made a PPV direct link campaign to see how it looks like when you have stats there
It took my few long hours but I'm happy I did it for sure.

the facebook campaign with the "potential" have days without conversions and spent of 50$+ and days with a lot of conversions this is strange anyway I paused it for now and tried to duplicate this campaign in 2 media buy traffic sources lets see how does it goes .

Yesterday Stats - 11.8.14 :

Mobile :
Mobile Cost: 2.81$
Mobile Revenue: 0.9$

Desktop :
Desktop Cost : 148.46
Desktop Revenue:302

Yesterday Total Profit : 151.63$
Countdown : 79,526.31$

wow it looks like this is going to be a long journey O_o .

08-13-2014 07:57 AM #26 lior_o_o (Member)

By the way how can I delete clicks or reset the stats of a campaign their?

Ah , another campaign I thought have good potential and failed , I share here please give me some improvements . what I did wrong so I'll improve it for my next campaign :

I had 2 good converting offers for UK , life and health insurance .
I thought how can I expend them so I took 2 big volume domains : webmd.com and nhs.co.uk and made campaign for each one , it was like a "special gift" to the visitors .
the landing:
http://www.screencast.com/t/CTZyhhgIdf

what was wrong? the volume was really low and it didn't convert at all .
what do you think , it was really that bad?

09-17-2014 02:35 AM #32 zeno (Administrator)

So that was on ZeroPark?

Some thoughts:

1. What % of the audience do you think would be interested in health insurance?
2. What are the approximate demographics of those sites?
3. For your lander, the initial thing that stands out to me is the lack of benefits - i.e. what's in it for me.

I have health/life insurance. Why would I give a crap about comparing some random plans when all I'm looking for right now are the common symptoms of rickets?

You should give users a reason to be interested.

E.g. Did you know the average UK citizen pays 20% higher health insurance fees than necessary? You could be saving $100 a year. Click here to find out how your current plan holds up.

09-17-2014 06:46 AM #33 lior_o_o (Member)

^^ so helpful thank you Zeno , it wasn't on ZeroPark , just leadimpact .
I don't think I'll make this campaign profitable but I want now to test more 2 landing to see how it goes.

09-19-2014 02:27 PM #34 lior_o_o (Member)

Hey guys , someone knows how can I display the visitor's city in my landing without PHP , this is a big problem (I use rackspace) .

09-20-2014 04:35 AM #35 zeno (Administrator)

You will need to use MaxMind's GeoIP Javascript service or build you own - i.e. run Maxmind GeoIP stuff on your own server and call on it instead.

I'll be making a tutorial in the near future on how to do this.

09-20-2014 12:34 PM #36 borislavt (Member)

Haya

I think the most popular way to get the geo location is with MaxMind javascript - the one that zeno mentioned.
Here is how:
place their javascript in the body (the best place should be after the opening body tag)

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://j.maxmind.com/app/geoip.js"></script>
Call the script somewhere in your landing page where you want the user's geo location to be populated:
<script>document.write(geoip_region_name() || geoip_country_name());</script>
Check this page source to see the example:
http://guayme.net/gameforge/

Hope it helps

09-21-2014 06:04 PM #37 lior_o_o (Member)

^^ thanks bro it worked

wow guys I miss the days I made good profit , but maybe this follow along can show some new affiliates here the bad side of AM , they always see people brag how much they make and think that this is easy , so see how much I lost in the last 7 days (I even revealed here bad campaigns I really don't care because I'm anyway going to pause them ) :
http://www.screencast.com/t/FrXsMqBq3vS
^^ and the cost is growing each day, I'm just going to pause 90% of them.
and we start over again...

P.S. , Questions for the experienced guys here :
you are running ppv campaign for 3 days , 1 niche 2 offers(this is 1 offer with 2 different landing from the advertiser) and I made like 3 different landing .
the results
http://www.screencast.com/t/aH8ltFtDoG

I can pause this offer or just to pause all the LP's excluding the landing with the conversion (land 2) and to make more variations from the winner landing?
what do you think guys?

09-21-2014 10:53 PM #38 zeno (Administrator)

For your last question, I think you need to focus on getting CTR up an order of magnitude - by improving the lander and killing off targets that apparently have no interest in the landers at all.

You seem to have a high payout offer but that won't help if you can barely get any clicks to the product!

09-22-2014 10:07 AM #39 lior_o_o (Member)

^^ Hi Zeno , the CTR is low because my targets are broad maybe to broad.
even for broad targets this CTR is low?

09-22-2014 11:16 PM #40 zeno (Administrator)

Well, it depends - as you said if you go broad > low CTR.

The question is, are there enough placements with better CTR/CVR, such that you can optimise and still spend and make money?

10-29-2014 10:08 PM #41 lior_o_o (Member)

Hey Guys,
so I didn't update this thread for like a month or more , a lot of guys here asking me why I'm not continue with this journey and if I gave up .
So the truth is I don't have much time for my own campaigns because I met another guy from my area (who is STM member) and we are working together on campaigns we are very good team and we are having great results :
http://www.screencast.com/t/jfP2tOp6EO

and this is only the start for now the highest day we had is 900$ profit with like 350% ROI . we are pushing it everyday and working really hard .
So I need to pause this journey but I learned here a lot thank you guys , the best tip I can give to newbies here is to focus on one niche and go deep into that niche , before you launch a campaign make a game plan write all the ideas and angels and then follow the system , what I did few month ago I made a lot of campaigns in 5 minutes and launch them it was not smart , now we can work on 1 campaign like few weeks because we are trying so many ideas until 1 hit . I think this is something that held me back in my old campaigns .
Ok thats it guys , see you in Vegas
