KingMobi Not Paying?
Hey guys,
I'm not sure how many people are going through the same, but I have heard rumors that KingMobi may not be paying out their affiliates for the last week and a half of CleanMaster revenue.
At first, I thought they were just late on the payment since that has happened with them before. But in talking to my AM I keep getting the "I am not sure what the result will be/We will see what we can do" answer when asking when the wire will come.
I don't think it's a compliance issues since every affiliate I've talked to is in the same boat, but I guess you never know since they've had problems with google in the past.
Does anybody have any insights on this? I have heard about them having a bad business model/something else going wrong but figured STMers would know what the real deal is.
Appreciate the help.

They are slow at paying but always paid me so far, and I hope it won't change.
As a peace of mind inducing FYI.. They are huge with billions of $$s; their owner is one of the wealthiest Chinese IT guys.. i doubt they will not pay, except they simply suck at being professional about timely payments..

^^Yeah I was thinking the same. And I know Cheetah mobile is publicly traded on the NYSE. I'm hearing I should hear back on this issue by this week, so I'll keep you posted.
Some of it may be the imperfect english skill of AM's, making it harder to communicate exactly what is up.

I usually get paid some days after the invoice, around 5 days. Its been 8 days now. Last week they told me they were delayed and backed up with payments, but reassured me they would pay. Like, it wasn't even a question.
I like the network and they have a strong backing. I believe its just delay.

Totally agree. I can post the convo I had with them that definitely scared me a bit but I don't think thats necessary just yet.
Haven't seen my AM online for the past two days so we'll see if they make an announcement soon.

Would be good to get someone from Kingmobi to respond here, I've been talking with Egan through the whole process and seen the communication very poor on Kingmobis side so far

Hmm , thread was opened 12 days ago. Taking this long to get an answer is pretty bad from their end.

Just got word that they need to confirm the source of the offending page from Google and then they can payout. Hopefully that'll be soon.

So what's the story???
Is it because you were running noncompliant ads???

I assume several affiliates were running uncompliant and they do not want to pay anyone until they know who they shouldn't pay?

No, I had all my pages approved beforehand, so I should be good to go.

Yeah, exactly. They are waiting to know for sure who it is before the money is given out. Just hoping it's soon now, it's been almost three weeks.

I hate to give you bad news but this sounds like a classic network runaround, giving you shitty excuses why they are not paying. Its THEIR risk. If you ran compliant/approved campaigns then there should be no issues like this.
From experience, you need to demand payment asap. The chances of getting paid just gets smaller and smaller the more time passes.
EWA did this with their affiliates for months on end.

This delay makes zero sense if they are saying you were running uncompliant.
If they say you were running uncompliant then they would already have proof.
I'm not exactly sure what more time is going to do in regards to finding out whether you were previously running compliant or not.

Basically there was 1 affiliate that ran uncompliant. This made them get delisted from Google Play which of course greatly damaged their business.
I don't think they know who it is yet. So they're not ruling anyone out. Sounds like they're going to pay everyone but that person once they resolve it.

Google's game with this new policy is to remove affiliates. I was informed that Google themselves will run campaigns for CM on Adwords now - this removes the risk and gives CM 100% compliance.

How would you handle such a situation with your affiliates, would you still pay them even if the advertisers does not pay you???

he mentioned here before that it's routine for advertisers to go AWOL when making their final payment so yes they do it often enough

They have paid out everyone accept for egan.
If they knew it was him being uncompliant surely they would show him some proof that it was in fact him.

OP mate, for your sake, I really hope it was not you, and if it was you, you were at least running your affairs through a limited liability company and you already a very hefty directors' liability insurance policy already in place.

There is a few people they still haven't paid out I believe. They have both my referral URL and login/pw to traffic sources though so I'm not sure why this is an issue.
The good news is, their CEO is at Google HQ now and it should all be resolved in the next few days.
