Direct APK Download Link? (12)

Direct APK Download Link?

Is there a way to get an affiliate link for the actual APK download?

It'd be so nice if my "Download" button just prompted the download and install. Seems almost too good to be true though....

From what I've experienced, it is either a direct download, or it isn't. There isn't usually a choice between the two, like for example, choosing between going to the google app store OR going straight to the download. I haven't seen any offers like that. You need to find a different offer that IS a direct download, then link to it from your LP's download CTA button.

Hmm, right now it's going to the offer's landing page with a "Download" button that prompts the APK download. I'd even take sending them to the app store over it, it's scammy looking page.

I imagine if an advertiser has the app in the app store then the APK would probably not even exist or be used?

The technical/temporal/psychological barrier to installing an app through the official store is miniscule cf. an APK download.

I notice when I highlight the Download link on their landing page, there is an affiliate looking type link that has a couple tokens that mention the network/clickid/affiliate id, ect. I tried to view the source and just copy that link, but that link is generated from a javascript code.

Is there not a way I can just copy that link somehow and use it for my download button?

EDIT: Ok, I was able to right click and "Copy Link Address". I'm going to give it a shot, why not...

Well at first it seemed to work, I had 2 conversions go through. But then my campaign either tanked hard, or it wasn't registering click right. I believe it was the latter.

I'm not sure what you're doing but circumventing the advertiser's setup is likely to just break things.

1. If you go directly to their download link, are you now passing through your network tracking link? Probably not. In which case how would you get paid for anything?

2. If direct with the advertiser, chances are they have tracking code on the page that you'll dodge when you do this, which will again probably break tracking - unless it's as simple as plugging affid info into a link.

I doubt taking the link direct will work.

If it doesn't go through the tracking link it won't show in your stats.

The two conversions you saw probably are delayed conversions from past traffic.

Yeah, a bit dumb now that I look back at it. I asked my affiliate manager if they could get me a link for this a few days ago, would be nice if he got back to me once in a while....

Get in touch with the advertiser, they MAY be able to give you a direct download.

Well I've always found apk installs to convert lesser, since a google play site is much more legit. No?

Hmm for me it's been the opposite.

However it depends a lot on the lander you use.
