Why are many of the mobile ad networks in China?

I notice that a lot of the mobile affiliate networks are located in China, is there any reason for this other than the local demographics?

More people, more chances of starting a mobile ad network is my guess.

I think it's more of a cultural thing. Mobile is pretty popular in china.

It wasn't the same situation when it came to "normal web aff.networks".

That stat blows my mind, the potential for the mobile space in China is ridiculous going to be a lot of innovation I'm sure in that space
