Exo Click Pop-Over ads

Hello STM,

I have just started adult media buy. I am doing PPV marketing from some time and getting some good conversions so I thought to start Pop-over on adult dating sites.

I found Exoclick offers Pop-over so I started with it and deposited $200.

On PPV I get about 10% CTR on landing page (Non-Adult lander), but on Exoclick pop-over I am getting less than 2% of CTR and no conversion. Traffic cost is lot less on Exoclick compare to PPV, but I am not getting any conversion on pop-over.

I tried 3 different offers for different countries like Australia, Czech Republic, Finland, and spend about $20 and got 10,000+ of pop views, and no conversion.

I know I have spend very less amount to collect data, but I need some suggetions to make it work.

Here, at STM there are lot of experts who can help me how to play Pop-Over on Exoclick.

Thank you
Ravi

In the beginning try to target only 2-3 websites from premium ad. spots. Don't go on RON.

Thank You Delegia for great suggetion. Can you share when I should pause a URL if it is not converting. In PPV I stop it after 100-150 views, but I don't think it will be same case with Adult pop.

Rather than pausing a target after x number of views / clicks, it may be more advisable to put a universal system in place to do it after a certain spend threshold has been met, for example, 2x - 4x the payout works pretty well. This way you will be using a consistent optimization strategy across various cost models.

Hey,

Be sure to be using an adult lander on Exo! And do some serious multi-variate testing once you have a landing page that breaks even.

It may be hard to compete in certain GEOs on the top premium sites with HUGE advertisers that MAY just be placing cookies to keep as much commissions to themselves (aka cam networks). They usually do it during the day or offices hours, so prices drop at night and it's a more friendly enviroment.

As VP505 said, let a target run for a while until you get some more data

Best of luck!

PPV is usually a pop-up -- right in the user's face -- so 10% CTR is standard.

Exoclick 'pop-overs' are mostly pop-unders, and that's why you only see a 2% CTR.

Making this traffic work is less about the creative process and more about spending money on data.

I would advise against targeting solitary premium sites.

The most profitable targets for my popunder campaigns come from websites that aren't even listed on Exo. The only way you find them is by spending cold hard cash and collecting the data.

In most cases, $20 will get you a 5 minute stint on Xhamster and not much else.

Quoted for truth.

Thank you all and Finch for your advice.
Finch, to collect data I have to run RON right or I should collect my data on my own by finding low competitive sites or with less traffic.

Yeah, the only way to target the sites Finch mentioned is through RON campaigns since they are not available via premium placements.

Once you have found some gems, you could set up a separate RON campaign though and target only those sites by whitelisting them under "6 - Advanced Settings"

Hello Guys,
I have started a new campaign for Germany, and as Finch suggested I started with RON and stopped some top traffic sites.
I had started with 2 different landing pages, one survey style, and second Rules style.
Even Germany is sending lot of traffic and $20 daily budget reached in 2 hrs.
Rule Style Lander got 2 conversions and survey style Lander with no conversion so I paused it for now.
Today I only got 1 conversion. I have spend $47 and got 3 conversions of $12. At present loss of $35, not a big loss and not lot of data.
Problem is budget is spending very fast and I am not getting any time to pause non performing targets. At present I have paused some targets, and found conversions are coming from very low traffic sites.

Please suggest how much data I need to change my strategy.

At present I have got 18,872 views and LP CTR is only 0.58%.

First of all, make sure you are bidding the absolute minimum. Also make sure that it is set to Smart CPM with a frequency cap of 1.

(No point in bidding more than you have to when the campaign is churning so quickly.)

3 conversions for $12? So the offer pays $4?

It sounds like a DOI.

Try a SOI offer like DateForMore.

One thing I'd say about popunder traffic is that you always want to test on the offers that convert the easiest, even if their overall EPC is lower. You're looking to weed out targets that don't convert at all, so a single opt-in is best choice in testing for some early signals.

Thanks Finch for your advice.
I am running SOI offer. I was doing Dateformore on different lander, but no conversions. I have got 3 conversions with this $4 SOI offer, so I think it converts.

I am running Dateformore and this $4 SOI on PPV too, and $4 SOI offer is giving good EPC.

Fair enough.

I would keep focusing on weeding out the non-converting targets, as well as trying to raise that LP CTR.

The tasks go hand-in-hand really.

Cull targets and your LP CTR should increase. Will probably need to get it beyond 1% though.
