Plugrush sending you BS traffic?

Hey guys,

I'm just wondering if you guys have experienced Plugrush sending you BS traffic from other countries when you've only selected one country in the campaign setup.

I've been redirecting the traffic to a default lander, no clicks from the traffic...

just wondering if there was a way to block it properly.

cheers
^R

That sounds like Plugrush to me...I've seen as high as 80% of the traffic being bogus or coning from the wrong geo's

do you have any other similar network recommendation deondup?

you just have to spend some money and then filter bad sources

Ya been doing that, I have about 20 sites on my black list... Adding more. Just wondering if there was other ways to block stuff on their end or a similar ad network that isn't so dodge

yeah, about 20% of traffic I receive is different country than I target.. there's nothing you can do

I doubt it's on purpose, they're system just isn't great. Blacklist is the best way to block them

I wonder if any of it has to do with proxies... from what I hear, a lot of people look at porn thru proxy

One of the best ways to address this is to POLITELY (there's a time to be a BAMF and this ain't it!) contact them about the problem and supply screenshot data from your tracker to show the incoming IP addresses.

Many mobile traffic brokers still find it hard to correctly filter data. THe majority are honest and need to know of the issue in order to address it and keep customers spending. Sure, you get a few bad apples who are out and out pirates, but that's just business in general.

I've had this situation with many different networks, in various countries, and by communicating with them in a non-accusing way, they all gave me a credit for the wayward clicks and the traffic quality did improve.

Supplying IP data also subtly let's them know that you are watching closely. It' keeps 'em on their toes.

Agreed. Just submit a support ticket, I've had $500+ refunded due to garbage pubs. They are usually pretty good about refunds there.

Haven't worked with PlugRush for a few months but I remember the typical Day 1 of a campaign:

1. Wait for campaign to be accepted.
2. Wait for first trickle of data.
3. Enter Blocked Sources
4. BAM, BAM, BAM, BAM, BAM, BAM...

And then Day 2:

1. Enter Blocked Sources with extended list of 400 targets to disable.
2. Realise they still haven't added a Bulk Disable button.
3. Wail like a fucking banshee.

hehe, I gave up a bit on PlugRush after noticing you receive SO MUCH trafic from shitty CJ sites with no quality. You let 4-5 days pass, put 3-4 hours to put a bunch of sites on Block, and you have to do the same thing 3-4 afters... like it's never ending.

First they should monitor closely and not accept CJ sites... under any other category, except CJ!

Any idea if it is possible to block bad sources at PlugRush also by category? I can block them by site, but they have token for categories as well, so I wonder if its possible.

Not sure, but I generally wouldn't recommend this as there are almost always diamonds amongst the rough, so to speak.

You could always just get a full list of site IDs from the category according to your tracker and go on a mass blacklisting.

Thanks for the answer zeno. I'm thinking also about the opposite approach - of whitelisting or pooling. But whitelists are also probably not supported. So I just need to collect a ton of data and and then start cutting.

I know this is an old post, but wanted to know if anyone found success with plugrush and carrier billing adult content offers? im working with plugrush for a month now and been optimizing the carriers and their subnets, basically blacklisting wifi traffic. my next step would be to block any bot source id's and then go into >X$ spend and no conversion and Blacklist those sites too. is that a good approach? I am wondering if anyone got plugrush to work and be successful. thanks,

KK

Made lots of $$$ from Plugrush, just have to filter out all the BS site id's. They have bulk site id blocking. Click on "Lists" >> Bulk Import >> Paste site id's in and press "upload". Also not to many people know this but if you send a support ticket they will enable a white listing option for your account

Plugrush has a lot of BS traffic, but they do have some gems

How do you filter out bs sites? What's the logic or formula? $ spend? Low clicks? Categories? What's the proper way to find out the bs there? Thanks

All of those combined.
If you have an average CTR of 20% for example, and suddenly a few sites have 0% CTR and some others have like 85% CTR and none of them convert after your spending rules, then I block them.
Same for all traffic sources, but sometimes you'll receive conversions too, so you need to keep an eye on them.

As long as money in >= money out, I'd not blacklist them.

plugrush is full of bot traffic. Be careful and I advise you to stay away...

06-23-2015 07:23 AM #22 acepowermarketing (AMC Alumnus)

usually a few sites on plugrush perform very well so we just whitelist them and then come back some time later to search for it again. the cost of search is pretty high due to the volume of bot traffic. however plugrush support is great. you can reach in if you have any issues and i love their responses.
