Airpush Issues (14)

Airpush Issues

Is anyone having issues trying to optimise with Airpush? If I click on Optimize-> Creative, I don't see any data. Is it supposed to be realtime?
Also, the impressions for the various creatives are not updated realtime,so how am I supposed to optimize during the testing phase?

Have informed my AM few days back ago but haven't heard back.

Also, is it a good option to start doing mobile CPA with Airpush?

I have used Airpush. You can definitely create & run a profitable campaign with them.
However, I wouldn't recommend airpush to start out with, for the following reasons:

1) Incredibly strict in terms of approving ads.
2) Stats are often wrong, as you're describing.

I will say, that they do have a great selection of ad types though, but its hard to use them to their potential because they rarely approve any ad with a decent angle..
If your AD has no angle, and you're going for the "Click here to download now" type AD, then they are great. Otherwise, I would go elsewhere.

1) Incredibly strict in terms of approving ads.
Very true. I spend a lot of time trying to get my ads approved.

The issues you guys are describing aren’t very unique to Airpush…. From somebody who is also learning all of this I understand the frustration but if you just work with it a bit more you’ll bypass all of the B.S. and find success with these ad networks.

I'm no expert but here are my thoughts:

1. The "optimize" feature works just fine for me. I use it at all times of the day and I never go more than 10-20 seconds without being able to load my data. Yes, at times it is a bit slow, but if it fails to load then close the box and open it again. Also wait for the data to load before clicking on a new tab as that seems to prevent it from freezing. If you keep clicking in frustration it seems to amplify the problem of it not loading....

2. In regards to the stats not being real time, if you need real time stats then pull them from Voluum (or whatever other tracker you're using). If you're not using an external tracker then that's your problem right there. Let's say you need to cut out a few bad pub IDs, carriers, etc., and the optimize box doesn't load; pull the relevant data from Voluum and paste the site ID or other variable into the search box (in the optimize box), and it will load the variable individually, and from there you can pause it.

3. I've never heard of any proprietary tracking system guaranteeing “real time” tracking. The only thing that’s guaranteed “real time” is the money being deducted from your balance. Accepting that and finding ways to make it work for you is the best solution….. How quick do you need the data? I’ve never noticed it taking longer than 10-20 minutes to update. Isn’t that good enough? Have you ever run campaigns with ad networks like Leadimpact? You can’t even get campaign specific cost data until the next day. Now that’s something to complain about…..

4. As for being incredibly strict on approvals, I’m not sure what you guys are running but I find that they’re VERY reasonable. If they disapprove your ad then take it as a compliment and find out why they disapproved it, and figure out a way to make it compliant. Often times they’re probably doing you a favor. If they think your ad is misleading then what will the advertiser think if they see it? Having the right attitude when it comes to disprovals is the key. Think of the approvals team as your friend and not your enemy. I’ve reached out to my account reps after ad disprovals and all of them were kind enough to take the time to explain everything in detail. Usually it’s something simple like them not being able to view the offer page due to GEO restrictions; but for ad copy issues the funny thing is that it often comes down to just changing one word and/or the structure of a sentence. This used to annoy the fuck out of me but then I started thinking to myself something like this, “Hey you lazy fuck, it’s your job to solve problems and you should enjoy these challenges. If you can’t even handle simple stuff like tweaking an ad to make it compliant then how are you going to trick people into downloading this useless app so that you can make $xx,xxx/day?”

I could go on about why I love Airpush but I think I’ll shut up now.

@zeroonedigital, thanks for your detailed response. That was really helpful.
I have a question for you-which ad formats do you go with? Airpush has so many, even after checking with my AM for the most suitable ad format for the offer I'm promoting, it's overwhelming at times.

2. I am using Voluum as the tracker. My main concern right now is not being able to see the impressions for a particular creative realtime. I've reported this issue to my AM and apparently no one else has reported such an issue so it's probably my account.

3. I usually get the creative data after 8 hrs or so. So I need to pause the campaign , wait for the data to appear in Airpush and then see what needs to be done. The rest of the data under optimize is available realtime.

4.The disprovals are annoying but I guess I need to change my mindset if I want to continue working with Airpush.

Hey, I'm also having a problem with AirPush as well.

I set my daily budget to $20, but AirPush spent over $400...

P202 shows around 500 clicks, AirPush shows over 13,000 clicks...

So yeah, is this common?

It is quite common but you can get a refund.

I think their policy is that the allowed overspending can't be over 20%.

Hit up your rep to get your money back.

Doesn't Airpush allow Landing pages? I had a LP setup which they thought was misleading. I modified it to be very clean(no warning signs, system messages etc.) and they asked me to remove the landing page completely. This is the response I got from support:

"We don't allow pre landing page image which could be post modified after approved and cause technical issues in tracking them so we kindly request you to remove the image completely."

Is this the norm? Or should I speak to my AM?

Are you using an LP or an Image?

07-20-2014 03:34 AM #10 sabhssabhs (Member)

I'm using an LP which is hosted on my server.
What do you mean by image?
The flow is supposed to be :

Banner-> LP -> Offer

Are there any landing pages that can't be modified post approval?

According to Airpush, you're not allowed to use LP's with Antivirus, Battery Saver etc.

Horrible stats usually on Airpush, + overspending of your budget.

It's just sometimes something you have to deal with on traffic sources. Best way to manage it is tracking of your own.

AirPush won't refund the spend, because the Minimum cap for a refund needs to be $35, not $20...

They're also looking to see if the traffic was really/not. I'm not holding out much hope.
