What Time of Day Do You Email?

I've read quite a bit about this and there seems to be some differing points of view. So was wondering if any of the top Email dogs want to chime in:

What Time of day do you set your auto responders to email? Or do you leave it as the time they signed up?

Obviously each list is different and do I plan on split testing, but just wanted some view points of people I respect!

I made a booboo today and sent out a test blast at 6am, the results were very underwhelming! (First test, check.)

Test and see. When I email business people, I do it between 9-5 to catch them at the computer because I want them to open on desktop. Mobile has been on the rise though and I see more and more mobile opens.

Yeah true, right now I'm emailing clickbank video sales pages, so I think I might need to get them on their down time, work might not be the best time for this. But defiantly going to split test!

Most of my mailings have done best right in the morning. Usually around 5:30-6AM Pacific time, but that is really just a starting point.
It really can vary by audience and offer.

I sometimes reference this page when trying to find new optimal times: https://assets.econsultancy.com/imag...nfographic.jpg

Then you've got the whole issue of mailing to 3-5+ different time zones to consider.

I'm using get response at the moment which has a time zone feature which sets the emails to go out at say 6pm at who ever they are at.

However they don't have a split test option on there autoresponder, which is just freaking stupid. I'm doing dating and the small split test I've done is 4pm > 6pm when it comes to open rates. Tracking conversions and time is going to be a little bit more tricky

If your email list contains more company subscribers, you should avoid sending emails on Monday and Friday. On Monday, people must accumulate more emails to check. On Friday, people prepare their weekends. Even though they may read your email, they may not reply or take any action from your email.

eCommerce/subscription boxes/fashion/travel does well week days, right around lunchtime. Dating of course is nights and weekends. Christian dating picked up on Sunday evenings an Monday evenings. For some reason ink deals always did best on Mondays. Test of course, but why don't you make some seed accounts and see what the big boys do? Because they definitely split test it. ;-)

When the Obama campaign was raising money via email for the 2012 election, what they found was that the more they mailed, the more money they raised, and they sent multiple emails per day as the election neared. The subject line that got the highest open rate was "I will be outspent." Obviously the sender has a huge effect on opens, but if you read the study here:

...it is eye opening. I've got emails coming from as many as many as six different personalities, every day, as many as 13 emails to readers on all the lists and there is no doubt the more often you email, the more money you make...that is much more important than time of day.

@johna5150 Meaning you will hit the same data set 10+ some times from different angles? I really need to get more aggressive considering I don't use completely targeted data for my mailings all the time. Been working to try and get to the point of 3-4+ a day but you gotta be constantly testing.
