Targeting occupation and business owners (help?)

Hey everyone,

Been silent on here since work really picked up back in the terror-kingdom of oil field land.

I have a roofer campaign using scraped UIDs, but facebook no longer allows UIDs (well
on some profiles they do), but regardless I want to scale this campaign up.

When I go to target people by occupation titles (I use things like owner, owner/operator, owner/ceo etc.)
and then I target by industry (construction and excavation) my 1.4 million or so audience goes down to
less than a 1,000.

Not exactly what I had in mind when it came to scaling it up lol.

Any ideas on how to improve audience reach while remaining targeted?

I thought about expanding the professions to include other kinds of contractors, I have a small list and I
was able to get that up to around 34,000 people.

Though a lot of those 34,000 people are not exactly the owners of the business (which is what I want) since
I can't target owners / that specific of a job at the same time it seems.

Any help would be super appreciated!

Thanks,
-eidolon

Send the landing page and you'll get better help.

Try uploading a custom audiences list. Maybe buy an email list of business owners from a list vendor and upload it to facebook. It works best if you have at least 1000 either emails or phone numbers.

Why would the landing page help me target Facebook business owners?

I was looking to see if there was any targeting options that could work without buying an email list. But yeah, looks like that might be the only real option here since Facebook is getting rid of scraped UIDs.

Not that scraped UIDs was ever an overly large audience to begin with lol.

It's not entirely clear what your targeting angle is and the reasoning behind it. I presume it involves specifically advertising to roofers?

Firstly, some US-based research to give a guide to audience sizes:

Not sure where roofers would fit in.

As for getting a decent sized audience on Facebook... you could use Audience Insights here to get a broader sense of the demographic.

Example: I selected US Males who are 18-any. I added Construction and extraction as a job title and ticked up to $75,000 income.

The 25-34 age bracket stands out, these people are less likely to be married and less likely to have gone to 'Grad school'.

They have some pretty cliche like habits:

Obviously this doesn't help you find more roofers - which is simply not going to happen if Facebook doesn't let you target them specifically, but it does paint a picture of the demographic that you might be able to tweak and scale the angle to.

Males, 25-34, with <$75k income, who like Bud Light. Clearly.
