Advertiser wants to see my LP/Creatives?

So, i sent some traffic to this one edu offer.

and i recently got my traffic assessed by the advertiser.

My AM told me that the advertier liked my traffic and wants some more.

BUT!

they woul dlike to see my Ads + LP.

something sketchy or no?

should i send them my stuff?

I wouldn't send it to them, but it depends on your relationship with the AM and the advertiser.

But really if traffic is good and as long as you're not doing anything shady I wouldn't send it.

Might be able to make a simple lander/ad that is compliant and give that to them. Any thoughts on this?

Tell them that if they're unhappy with your traffic you'll gladly stop sending it. But if they like it, then everyone wins. Tell them you won't reveal your traffic sources, landing pages, banners or other promotional methods because in the past unscrupulous am's at other networks have stolen your campaigns and given them to other affiliates and you're avoiding that situation in the future by not revealing your sources.

Sounding like you know what the hell they're trying to do generally gets them to back off.

For an EDU offer I can understand their desire to want to see what you are doing.

I would be careful sharing with just anyone... I've got a buddy who was buying some advertising on a site and pushing it to an affiliate offer and was making bank.

...he let the site owner know how well the traffic was converting for him and (how much he was making from it)...

-- The site owner signed up as an affiliate himself and kicked my buddy to the curb and starting promoting the offer himself.

Like Alex said it depends on the network and the AM you are dealing with. I trust some AM's/networks, but don't trust others.

If you are doing decent volume on the offer try and go direct that way you can work with them more closely. You can be transparent without risking a third party jacking/sharing your stuff.

If I'm making them money then the only response they'll get from me is "If my leads don't back out, tell me and I'll stop pushing to your offer."

If they keep pestering me after admitting that my leads are solid, and still want traffic sources/landers/etc, the only response they'll get from me is "Fuck off."

I've had enough campaigns stolen by untrustworthy AMs, traffic sources, etc and I don't fall for that shit anymore. If they were just trying to control lead gathering sources, they'd have asked for me to show them what I'm using and where it's running up front, like RealMatureSingles does. If they ask AFTER I make them a shitload of money, they're probably trying to rip the rug out from under me. I don't take kindly to that shit. To me, that's as bad as reaching into my wallet and taking my cash. I wouldn't respond kindly to that, and I don't respond kindly to requests for my traffic sources either.

good advice. Not gonna send them any.

My AM has been weird and asking me for LPs/Creatives saying that the advertiser wants to see them..

ehhh

yep, play hard-ball.

if their leads are backing out and its avg or better. WTF!!! should they be asking.

It helps to be paranoid in this business just like a trader with a winning strategy.

Mulder "Trust no ONE!"

TIA

^^^ Damn that sounds harsh! But I can see where jumping through the hoops may be worth it depending on relationship and payout, etc. Leave it to CJ to put the clamps on!

@ Kevin

Do you know what the legal implications of some of these EDU offers are. From what I can gather the advertisers want to see your promo's to make sure it ticks all the legal boxes. There's a lot of shady EDU stuff around and there are some tough new restrictions that may affect some of these CPA offers.

I'll try and dig up the article and post it here...

More and more advertisers are requiring to pre-approve landing pages and or creatives prior to new publishers running campaigns with them. Most** advertisers do not have a clue as to how to buy media successfully or at the scale publishers and networks can deliver - hence why they come to us for distribution.

Unfortunately EDUCATION along with many other verticals have clamped down on publishers pushing traffic from non-approved landing pages (un-supported claims, fake testimonials, fake news articles and more).

I do agree that prior to giving up your LP you should feel comfortable with the company and or account manager you are working with. As for Education, this is not at all an uncommon practice. I have seen this more and more with Credit Reports and even skin care rebills.

Just give them a lander to make them happy. Most affiliates, like myself, we use multiple landing pages and i always tend to create new ones so if they want to see one, ill either make one or give them something ive used before.. usually i dont give them something thats currently working / im using..
