Help me guys, I'm going to propising a girl of my dream :o
Guys, let's say I have 1000$ a month for straight 3 months. So,
1) what's your advice for traffic source; mobile / POF / FB / what?
2) which aff network should I take for every traffic source?
I'm totally IDIOT but I'll do whatever it takes to success, because she's waiting for me. Thanks

I'd still recommend POF. However, $1k pm is enough to start thinking about mobile if you're very disciplined about it.
Bear in mind - you can't guarantee success. This should be $1k per month you can afford to spend on your education, without necessarily making it back. If you keep going you'll break through eventually, but it could be 1 month or 6 months from now.

I pm'd you but my advice is to stay single, you'll have greater ROI that way.

I'm in the same situation as you..
But I guess I'm gonna give PoF a try for now since Facebook is really cracking down on advertising accounts I guess
Also focus only on one advertising network as it was mentioned in newbies tutorials..

I would start by reading Carmen's mobile guide and then start testing low paying offers to get a feel how mobile works.

Thanks, bbrock32 De La Pulga! What I learn in 48 hours here are:
1) Even a Guru isn't always right.
2) The more I ask, the more I get the contradiction answers.
3) Everyone always treat me well although I asked the question which has been answered before.
4) Reading, reading, reading then asking.
Nice! 99$ is well worth I guess

There is a saying in English, "A Fool and His Money Are Soon Parted".
If you really don't know the basics of how Internet advertising works, your chances are very high that you will lose $3000 in 3 months.
My advice to you:
Don't spend anything.
1. Learn about how Internet advertising works. Pass the Adwords certification exam, pass the Facebook certification exam. Both are free. Learn Photoshop or GIMP. Learn how to do basic coding. You don't have to spend a penny on any of this.
2. If possible get a job in a performance marketing agency and learn everything you can about digital marketing.
3. Save your money in the meantime, and when you feel like you know a little about how the industry works, then start small with a campaign in a traffic source that you understand with money you can afford to lose and build up from there.

Thanks again, cmdeal. I know you don't want me lose my money idiotly (?), but I don't have a time to just learn this-learn that. I'll learning while doing. Indeed, $3k is HELL A LOT of money, moreover I'm Indonesian and our Rupiah screwed by Dollar (#&*K!). From the start I'm ready to lose money. Don't worry, I won't kill myself because of that. Perhaps my story will be a good case for STM.
Thanks cmdeal! Love ya

DO NOT RUSH THIS.
We talk a lot on STM about taking action, but that's because most people are more inclined to learn endlessly and never commit to testing, rather than the other way around.
If you're planning to test with very little learning, that's an equally bad idea.
At the very least, read through everything that STM has to offer both on general campaigns and your chosen traffic source and vertical. Read other peoples' follow-alongs and take notes. Make sure you've got a thorough grasp of statistical significance, affiliate math, copywriting, and lander design. Buy Ca$hvertising and Words That Sell. As cmdeal says, learn how to use Photoshop and make sure you understand the code at least enough to be able to thoroughly debug tracking.
It's far cheaper to learn from other people's mistakes and experiences than to duplicate them yourself. By doing this work, you're effectively earning yourself the money you would have spent learning those lessons the hard way. That could easily be the equivalent of $3000 or more.
All of that will be extremely cheap (your STM subscription plus about $20 for the books). You could also do the certification exams cmdeal mentions, which will not only give you additional info but also give you marketable qualifications. And it won't take that long - a couple of weeks if you're focused, maybe less.
You can be setting up a server, getting affiliate network accounts, and so forth at the same time.
It's very important to balance doing and learning. Doing only one of the two is setting yourself up to fail most of the time.
Don't want to jump down your throat on this, but I don't want to see you spend money needlessly either!

Hmm, okay. I'll thinking about it. Don't worry, I won't blame anybody if I fail. Though
Fail is my middle name

For many categories, the highest quality mobile traffic comes from Google search.
In any case, learning about ads, CTRs, CVRs, ad copy, etc that Adwords forces you to do is one of the most transferrable set of skills you can get. Similarly, learning about audiences and targeting and images that Facebook forces you to do gives you a solid foundation for many other areas of performance marketing.

Thanks! I'll give it a try. And what's the biggest mistakes you made when you start doing mobile?

There are a gazillion mistakes you can make on mobile (and any other channel). This is why you need to get the basics down. Otherwise, you can even lose $3000 in 3 hours if you don't know what you are doing.
