I am new to affiliate marketing. Please guide me.

Hello everyone. I am new to affiliate marketing, I am in learning phase, i read a lot. I read all the guides here in this forum, these guides are very well written. But I am confused. I don't know from where I should start. Should I try mobile traffic or should I go for POF. I have enough money to start, but I want to make some profit (I am ready to lose money to see some profit in future). But I want to know which platform is best for any newbie to start, to learn this game of affiliate marketing without losing so much money. Please help.

Hey, I'm new as well.

But you can start from here http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread...TION-AND-INDEX

And as far as I understand, mobile will set you quite a lot of money to do testing alone.
And if you're new PoF is good to familiarize yourself to the whole AM thing.

Anyway, enjoy your stay here, and do get started on anything you feel like doing

The guys here are all awesome and can give you much more solid advice!

Thanks qureyoon. Just wanted some advice. POF or Mobile, which will be the better platform for new comers. After reading many articles, i came on conclusion that both are good for new comers. Mobile need more investment than POF. Is it true? Can anyone advise?

That's bascially it.

You need more money to start on mobile properly due to the larger number of variables that you're forced to split campaigns by to get data effectively.

No source is better or worse. It depends on what you want.

Do you want to try your hand at dating? If not, go for mobile but have a clear idea of what kind of offers you want to run - free app installs, sweepstakes, games, etc.

Pick something. Then take action.

The best traffic source is the one you pick and throw a campaign at. Because it will at least teach you something.

Thanks Zeno. I am ok with dating. I Want to learn more and more without losing so much money. Can anyone give me idea that how much investment will be required to start promoting dating offers on POF.

Go in with at least $200-300 and make a solid plan first - how you are going to angle and target your campaign, how you are going to test (and what specifically), some thesholds for making decisions, etc.

You don't really need a lot on most sources if you have planned effectively and have a very specific test in mind.

This aside, you really need to alter that mindset.

You are using the word 'losing' too much.

If you went to the supermarket and spent $100 on food, socks, toiletries, and some kitchen supplies, you wouldn't get home and say you had lost $100.

You invested money in products you use and consume. You purchased sustenance. You acquired some useful tools.

In IM, you are buying data and experience.

What you should be asking is, which traffic source can I start on that will give me a decent amount of actionable data for relatively little investment.

For this question, I would say PoF, or low payout app install mobile offers in international geos that have low CPMs.

I'd recommend a bit more than $300 to start, even on POF - about $700 is pretty much the bare minimum.

Zeno's point about "losing" money is, well, right on the money. It's not about "losing" money, it's about investing in your education so that you can make money in the future.

Tah. Listen to Caurmen regarding the ideal minimum budget, I don't do PoF and have no eye for the typical spends there. I low-balled and got called on it!
