Leaderbord vs. Rectangle - Which one works best?

Hi guys,

about to start he first media buys for my own product (see Follow-Along here)), I noticed that often for the same Price, I can get either:

Leaderbord Ads (728 x 90), or
Rectangles (300x250)

(both ATF).

Any indication of one of the two working better than the other?

Thanks!

Totally depends on site layout and placement.

Some leaderboards will be footers, some headers, some 300x250s will be above the fold, etc., hard to gauge since you can't always work ATF.

Not sure if typical engagement rates are higher or lower... I tend to notice leaderboards more (at least when adblock is off) because they clash with columned page designs more often.

However, I like the 300x250s just because I feel they are a more comfortable design space to work in.

300x250's usually perform better. I'd test both. But if you're going to go with 1, definitely go with the 300x250.
