What Drives You Crazy About ALL Ad Networks?
Hey guys,
Is there a common annoyance for you guys on ALL ad networks that drives you nuts? In my experience, I find most ad networks are great at taking feedback and implementing requests to better their system but I'm sure there is things that go missed by people like me who are trying to see the bigger picture and deal with delivering features on time and within budgets.
I figured I'd ask you guys here, it may help us and the other companies that are present here to put some things into production. This could be a good source of feedback in one central place for us all.

It would be nice if you didnt have to go hunting down an Ad Network Rep at each Traffic source. It would make sense to have all clients assigned to one, even a junior person in the beginning for those with lower budgets/spends. It can be a real pain in the A$$ dealing with canned answers from the typical general backend support team. BTW this is just a general suggestion, nothing in particular to do with Trafficforce.

Uploading banners one by one.... In this day and age, i shouldnt have to upload 1 by 1....
Slow approval times
Not knowing how much volume there is per placement or country/OS

Tedious interfaces and uploading.
Low data transparency (show me everything!), both for campaign creation/stats and planner-like data as Karim noted.
Poor tracking options (S2S unique ID tracking should be mandatory).

I think it would be nice if an ad network would show a graph to view a campaign or banner's performance over time.

Buggy as shit interfaces, seriously, I almost loath using certain companies because of this.

Nothing that can be done about this one, probably, but approval times piss me right off. The few sources out there with instant approvals for trusted advertisers are great because you can get into a test - get results - repeat flow.
Also, yeah, lag-ridden interfaces. What would be nice is if more sources just let me access all my data as a big-ass JSON object and I'll parse it locally.

This is a major stumbling block when you get into delivering high volumes of traffic, I am running into it myself right now. I want to show advertisers every single piece of data that you can target with us, world wide with all options and multiple filters, my tech team slam their heads against the walls when I bring it up. The amount of storage and processing power you need to do it is quite incredible, it can be done but it comes at a cost. If I am running into this issue at 12 billion ad impressions per month then I can only wonder what Exoclick and Traffic Junky must be facing considering they have 5-10x the traffic we do.

I think about this a lot and do want to implement it but it can be quite dangerous, I am really on the fence about this, I've had advertisers who I would consider my most trustworthy, sometimes throw up a little aggressive campaign and my team have to deny it. I am still deciding if I want to implement this for us or not. I believe our team are among the best in the adult industry when it comes to ad approvals, we get notifications when there is ads in the queue, regardless if it is 5 or 5000 and every 15 mins someone is approving ads. Not to mention I personally like to check ads on a Saturday and Sunday as well to keep things going, I know the frustrations when buying traffic so that is why I take some time out of my weekend to do ad approvals.
