Haven't heard anything about new ad formats for the news feed, but when I posted a few of them yesterday they were shown in the feed like this:

The image is cropped like shit.
I still see the regular newsfeed ads out there. Anyone else that have experienced this?
That's not a new size, it's rather the old size. As far as I know they show it when the image submitted is smaller than the required one.
You need to submit ads that are 600x315 for newsfeed otherwise they will display like your screenshot. When FB shows the ads in the feed, they display in 470x246. If you saved an ad you saw running in your feed, you would need to resize it to 600x315 for it to display correctly.
Have always been running the 559x292 without any issues. I guess it's 600x315 from now on then!

They have been 470x246 rendered size for a loooong time.
For post links I use 1200x627 as a guide for the aspect ratio. They used to render at 400x209 but are now 470x246.
