Facebook Campaign Promoting B2B Services

I have been in B2B & consumer lead gen a long time. I'm creating my first facebook campaign using the facebook tutorial here as well as the Prosper202 tutorial and others. I'm promoting a campaign through Commission Junction to entrepreneurs.

I have set up hosting with a new domain through Beyond hosting.

I have set up Prosper202

I have created my first tracking link

??? > I am a little confused about how Prosper202 and CJ work together when it comes to conversion tracking. I can't seem to find anything here that clearly explains what to do there. There are some tutorials on random blogs, but if anyone has any advice, please let me know. I realize that CJ is the "commercial" and "uncool" affiliate network... but I have made a lot of money with organic SEO sites and email with them... So I have some trust with CJ.

My offer is a B2B lead gen offer that I will be targeting to entrepreneurs.

I literally booked a hotel for the next three days to focus on getting this set up.

I have created a facebook campaign and am now going to download the "template" so I can upload a massive amount of pics. I have a generous budget, so I'm looking forward to see how this works out.

I'll update shortly.

I'm alone in a hotel room, so any encouragement/question asking is appreciated.

You guys and gals are my co-workers for the next few days.

Has anyone successfully gotten CJ and Prosper202 to communicate with conversions? If so, any links would be helpful.

OK... Facebook marketing peeps... For a B2B Lead gen offer (free trial) would you create a facebook page or just do direct linking in the sidebar? Any helpful past experiences would be helpful. I would LIKE to just do direct linking to start, but I don't want to shoot myself in the foot by not doing the status updates that you can do with pages. Am I harming myself by not doing both?

I saw here:

that there are potentially issues with using Prosper202 and CJ together? Should I not be using it and use something else?

Tracking systems are just tracking systems. Having issues because you use a specific one is ludicrous. Google might as well punish website SEO rankings when they don't use Google Analytics on their pages.

Tracking with p202 and any affiliate network is all the same.

If you know the fundamentals then you don't need tutorials as you can just dig around in the interface and find what you need, look in their support docs, and contact their support.

You need to a) pass subids to the network and b) set up a postback URL. If you can't do b) then you should use an image pixel, pass subids any way, and regardless of what happens you should be able to upload converting subids at p202 to reconcile everything.

I don't have active offers on my CJ account but I found these:

http://cjsupport.custhelp.com/app/an...etail/a_id/568
http://cjsupport.custhelp.com/app/an.../930/related/1
http://sugarrae.com/affiliate-market...filiate-links/

When you get links for offers/programs, presumably there is some functionality to add tracking data, though this may not be ideal if you have a large number of ads. I don't know if/where you place pixels. Have a search. Contact their support.

As for the advertising on FB... use a page so you can do news feed ads. The RHS ads are phasing over to larger image sizes but I wouldn't rely on that yet.

OK...

So I have spent the day creating a campaign in the 25-30 male demo... 11 different images on the same post.

This took a LONG time, as there doesn't seem to be a way to use the spreadsheet to create posts. While I successfully upload a lot of the data... i had to create "ads" (posts) for each one anyway.. I used notepad to quickly copy and paste, but would LOVE to have been able to simply do that in a spreadsheet.

So, now that I'm finished with this, I need to create the additional campaigns where I push to each of the different demos... 31-35 male, 31-35 female, 36-41 male, etc. etc.

I wanted to simply download what I have created to excel, change the campaign info and ad set demographics and re-upload... does it not work like this?

My power editor now will not download... i have cleared cache, reinstalled chrome, etc... no dice. i submitted a help ticket. Hopefully something will give there.

I also created a landing page and am sending my traffic there... I really wanted to collect an email before pushing them to the offer... which is what I'm doing... I can use the emails to push other offers that I have and I'm willing to risk converting a few less now in order to make money in the future.

Any thoughts on my experiences thus far would be appreciated.

I'm not sure what your power editor issues are from but its what you should be using to do this.

It's quite simple to duplicate unpublished page posts.

You just make an advert, click new unpublished post, set all the details, then set all corresponding ad details.

You can then duplicate that ad or ad set and just change the optional URL tokens, or the targeting, and also do so to 10 ads at a time (e.g. dupe campaign with 10 ad sets in it > drill down into ads > select all > change age targeting).

The only limitation is that you cannot change post content i.e. image, body text, headline, description - for this you need to make new ones.

Regarding the power editor...

1. Do you have any Chrome plugins that could interfere e.g. AdBlock or NoScript?
2. Have you tried connecting through a VPN? Log in with your normal connection, get to the main power editor page, then connect to a nearby VPN node and try downloading.

Ok, so I spent a few hundred bucks so far. Made a sale, but I'm converting first name and emails on my site... So I have gotten much more value than just the sale...

I have a lot of people who have liked my ads... Is there a way that you guys have marketed to those people? Should I message or friend them?

Also, it seems like there has been a slowdown in clicks... Is this normal? Will i I have to always be creating new posts or will I be able to run the same ones for a long time?

Thanks for the feedback!

I did get the downloaded to work finally by telling it to only down load the last week instead of "since the beginning of time".

If people like your ads then there is not much you can do to them - unless they like your page.

They will produce social ads for you by liking yours so this provides some free clicks and an avenue for virility.

The click slow down could be due to a lot of things... You can steam roll ads 24/7 for months if you have the budget, bid high enough, and your CTRs aren't crap.

Your data will tell you why the ad might be slowing down, or it will be due increased competition and an inadequate bid.
