More clicks on tracker than traffic source? wtf?

A lot of the time I am seeing more clicks on my tracker (CPVLAB), than on the traffic source. Most recent example:

Traffic Source: 40,000 Clicks
CPVLAB: 47,000 Clicks

Where are the extra 7k clicks coming from? Does this mean there is not much click loss?

traffic sources are showing stats no realtime
some sources have delay of 30mins +

it could be google bots visiting your tracker URL landing pages...

Thats not it. This one is real time or very close to real time.

My landers are not indexed and even if they were, it is impossible for a search engine crawler to find my tracker URL.

Thanks for the input though guys...anyone else have any ideas?

what does the click referrer says?

unless the referrer is blank... you should be able to tell where your clicks are from...

oh... your campaign is mobile? are you doing those interrupt type lander?

i bet you are... because I experienced this too... and I would say it is normal and okay... and just go with what traffic source shows...

because when visitor gets to your interrupt type lander... they can double or triple (or even more) click from your lander...

It could be that the traffic source is just a good guy and has systems in place to not charge you for duplicate clicks/visits.

I don't know if this is possible, but what about people double clicking your ads due to lag? So they click the banner, and think nothing is happening so they keep tapping it, sort of like a refresh, and then eventually the page redirects to your lander/offer?

Don't know how that all works from a technical stand point and if it's possible, but I know I have clicked on banners multiple times thinking the page wasn't loading, when in reality it was just loading slow.

Yes - that is a perfect scenario of when you would get repeat clicks but the traffic source might not charge you for them (e.g. they detect clicks from same device ID within 10s of each other as dupes = no charge and not added to stats as clicks).

This can and will happen a lot on mobile due to slow page loads while the browser sits there rendering the original page.

Thanks for the help guys. I believe this is what is happening. Does this mean that the amount of click loss is probably negligible or just that it won't really be able to be determined?

Pretty hard to determine since there's no way for you to also detect unique clicks in your tracker with the whole IP aggregation... unless you can pass unique device IDs from the traffic source.
