Hi Guys and Gals,
just joined the forum today and spent some time reading the tutorials and case studies. I intend to start off by testing some offers with POF.
However, I have an idea for a review site where I review different products from amazon and then place my affiliate link after each review. I plan to use Facebook ads for traffic source but my question is does Facebook ads allow me to promote amazon affiliate review sites? And also, does amazon have any issues with me using fb ads as my traffic source? Just wanna make sure i'm not breaking any of their terms & conditions.
I searched around the forum and can't find much about amazon affiliate, I gathered that fb + amazon is not a popular method but I still wanna give it a try. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Looking forward to learn a lot from this forum and from all of you!
well FB hates affiliates so you must be carefull about it or cloak it
the big big disadvantage with amazon is their payment period (first 60 days then once a month)
you will need some good money to cover that 60 days
and only some high priced products will pay off with payed traffic
so select a niche wisely
I have ran some amazon on facebook in the past.
There should be no problem with promoting amazon review sites on facebook. But I guess if you have a review site for products like diet it could be a bit harder I suppose but I don't really see any reason for them to ban you.
When I was running though I unfornately got my amazon account banned after a while as I was just running directlinked out of a pagepost. Amazon needs you to have something on your site/fanpage. Cant just run a fanpage with 2-3 posts to them.
Major problem with Amazon Affiliate + any form of paid traffic is just the payout.
It's very hard to make a campaign work when you're being paid 5% of the total purchase price. Not impossible, but that's the general reason that Amazon affiliate stuff is usually the domain of authority sites or SEO.
* The more you sell, the higher the commission % depending on the vertical. (sell a few hundred phone cases, screen protectors and kindle books to raise percentage)
* Always search for "trending items", "wannahaves", "musthaves" and "just released items". (laptops, tablets, TV's, camera's etc.)
Search traffic is the bomb.

Adwords bans
Amazon bans 2 days before payout.
Couple years ago amazon banned our affiliate account with $30k on it several days before payment lol
