Facebook to Teezily.com (European Teespring Alternative)
Hi
Just recently rejoined the forum, and I would like to jump in at the deep end with a Follow Along for Facebook to Teezily.com. In case you haven’t heard of Teezily.com, it’s a European based alternative to Teespring.
The Target Market
My target market are men and women living in Scotland, who are planning to vote for Independence from the UK in the coming referendum on September 18th – this is a hot topic at the moment in the, as it is essentially a historic event. I am initially planning to target all age groups from 18-64.
The ad sets will initially be divided into three rough age categories:
18-30
31-45
46-64
I will create an ad set for each one of the above for male/female, giving me 6 ad sets in total.
Interests Targeting
I will initially target the following interests:
Yes Scotland
Scottish Independence
Scottish National Party
Potential Reach of Each Ad Set
Male 18-30: 14,400 people
Female 18-30: 7,400 people
Male 31-45: 8,000 people
Female 31-45: 4,600 people
Male 46-64: 8,400 people
Female 46-64: 5600 people
Facebook Ad Settings
I initially plan to use Desktop newsfeed ads only, with mobile, and the right hand column turned off. I have installed a tracking pixel, and chose the option to bid for website conversions.
The Ads and T-shirt

The Landing Page
The landing page can be seen at:
https://www.teezily.com/yes-scotland-t-shirt
I’ve included a prominent countdown timer on the page, to increase the notion of ‘scarcity.’
If manage to sell the t-shirts, I should make approximately $12.30 profit per t-shirt. I’ve set a low tipping point of only 10 shirts.
Summary
I’ve limited knowledge of Facebook ads, and am relatively new to the Teespring/Teezily concept, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I’ve launched several campaigns in the past few weeks, and they have all flopped, with only a handful of sales between them. I think that the Teespring/Teezily thing might be tougher than I anticipated!
Cheers

Nice, I've never heard of teezily, are their shipping fees a lot lower than Teespring?
Your set up looks decent, I've never tried political based tees though. One thing I would recommend is making more varied split tests. Your splits are way to similar at this early stage.
P.s. you might want to edit your landing page title from "Indpendence" to "Independence".
Curious to see what your data starts to look like.
Interesting idea! Living in Scotland, I can confirm that this is definitely a hot issue right now...
Test "No" T-Shirts too (interests: "Better Together"). Both sides are pretty passionate about their topic.
You might want to make the flag bigger, too.
Hi Mr Green
Thanks for the quick response. Yes, Teezily delivery costs to Europe are much lower than Teespring. I think Teespring charges about £7.30 for delivery to the UK, while Teezily charges £2.35.
I've re-done my ad lineup, and they are as follows:

So far initial results are slow. The UK is having a spell of good weather (unusual), which can lower web traffic. Also the World Cup is on.
Will keep you updated.

Campaign got off to a good start, with an average of 8 sales per day for the first 2 days. However on the third day, things seemed to have plateaued - not seen any sales today (so far.) Overall frequency of the campaign is still only 1.14, so I don't think that my target audience are suffering from ad blindness yet. What would you consider to be a problem ad frequency?
The main challenges I'm facing:
1) As described above, sales seemed to have plateaued on the third day. No idea why. I was wondering if it could be due to the wording of Teezily's landing page. When I reached the initial goal of 10 shirts sold, it said on the landing page that '10 products sold out of 10', to me this makes it sound like that the t-shirt has sold out!! I've emailed Teezily support about this.
2) Most of my sales are from a single ad! There isn't a healthy balance in the campaign. In one ad set, the 'winning ad' has had 3707 impressions, while the other ads in the group have had only 10-15 impressions. This isn't good, and will lead to ad blindness. Has anyone seen this problem before? Any ideas how to fix it? I've paused the ads that were getting almost no impressions, and re-uploaded them, in attempt to 'kick-start' them. I think this might be a symptom of Facebook's 'optimise for website conversions' algorithm being overzealous? I've bid high on all the ads, so that's not the problem here.
3) I don't know when to kill off poor performing ad-sets. I've got one ad set that has had 808 impressions, and spent $2.97. No sales. 10 clicks in total, with ad ctr dipping below 2%. Should I kill it off now? What are the key metrics you consider when killing of an individual ad or entire ad site? My top performing ad has a ctr of over 4.5%
That's all for now. I'd really appreciate some advice on the above. I don't want to start eating away at the profit I've made so far.
Thanks

I've had a look at the landing page and I indeed thought that the t-shirts where sold out... This could be a problem.
Seems like a nice idea, good luck with it!
Thanks Dennis, I've fired off another email to Teezily, asking if I could take control of this wording, as I think it's critical.
If anyone else has ideas on my other questions, that would be great.
Many Thanks

Thanks ThisisCarlo. Good idea, but it does indeed look messy! I don't understand why Facebook can't rotate all the different ad versions equally? My traffic is temporarily off for this campaign. I've emailed Teezily, and asked them to modify the text on the page i.e. '10 products sold out of 10', as I believe its confusing.
Even though the traffic is off for day or so, I'd still appreciate if anyone has answers to my other questions.
Cheers

Hi Zeno
I discovered today, why my ads were not being shown equally. Facebook had revised my minimum bids upwards, and due to the poorly design interface in the 'basic editor' I didn't notice - you really have to go looking for the newly revised minimum bid. I revised my bids upwards, and the ads started being distributed more equally.

Hi Winner 1010,
I am new here and been reading a lot since i joined (reminds me i should go an make an introduction post).
I see that you sold 55 T-shirts with the goal just being 10.
Can you share with us any costs/profits that you made?

Hi Winner,
How did you end up doing with this? Did you ever get through to Teezly in taking their confusing wording on the page?
I'm new at facebook marketing but thinking of dipping my feet with teespring/teezly would love to hear your final profit/loss from this
Hi, Zeno,
I became a STM member about three months ago and have been focusing mostly on Mobile. I run into Teezily just the other day and would like to launch some campaigns based on some of my ideas as well.
However, now I seem to get stuck at the Facebook Website conversions page. I chose 'Checkouts' as conversion type I'd like to measure. After typing in a random name under "NAME" (followed by clicking the Create pixel button), the page said my pixel was not verified. Did a quick search on STM forum and found this page: http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread...facebook+pixel Does this seem like the right page I should get into? I honestly didn't know FB tracking can be this 'uh.. a bit overwhelming'. I do have a local VPN server set up but I have not used it since I was purely launching the Mobile Appetiser campaigns. Or I can dive into
Thanks in advance, Zeno.
