About the campaign:
This campaign is for my own business http://unbouncepages.com/caricaturely-idea-test/
Each order is for $99 and I make a $50 profit on each order.
Offer: own business
Traffic source: FB ads
Budget: $10 per day
Targeting - Female | 18+ | United States | in a relationship or engaged or married | College educated
Testing plan:
1. Ad Image
2. Landing Page
Math for profitability:
to make profits CPC > (Profit per order* Landing Page Conversion Rate)
Current ad image:

Other ad images I want to test next

Questions:
1. Does this campaign look like something which can ever be profitable? Does the testing plan look accurate?
2. Do I create ads for other images in same campaign as different ad sets? or do I wait to get some data on the first image and then create ads for other images?
3. Any other advice/tips to achieve profitability
Hi!
>1. Does this campaign look like something which can ever be profitable? Does the testing plan look accurate?
You really need to test it, but a few things
- cool product, definitely sth with mass appeal, and sth different than what everybody else is doing!
- you have a profit per sale of 50$, which means you would need quite a lot of money for tests which doesn't go well with the 10$ / day
>2. Do I create ads for other images in same campaign as different ad sets? or do I wait to get some data on the first image and then create ads for other images?
Same Campaign, different Ad Set or even 1 Campaign for 1 Image. Just not different images within the same ad set.
You should create more than one image right from the start.

Do NOT run one campaign for everybody, make segments! 18-19 years, 20-21years, 22-23 years etc. - that way you find out which demos convert.
You might try finer targetting like people who like comics or people whose spouse has soon a birthday etc.
>3. Any other advice/tips to achieve profitability
My intuition is often wrong, but the landingpage just looks too short for a 99$ product where the traffic comes from fb without any pre-qualification.
Stuff like how long does it take to deliver, shipping, safe payments, refund policy, media mentions, the usual sales stuff with more benefits etc bla bla.
Default advice for a 99$ sale would be to collect the email of the user and then sell them by email, as it's usually easier and cheaper to optimize for a 4$ CPA optin than for a 99$ sale.
My advice: get someone experienced to make a much better lander.
I would funnel people into an email list, remove the $99 from the page and maybe offer a discounted trial or something - it's a cool service but converting people on a $100 offer isn't going to be easy.
Definitely target people who are engaged separate to those who are married, newlywed etc.
As Steve said this has broad appeal but might take a lot of testing to get right.
As for your ad images, you will want to use the news feed and definitely put time into making good ads that utilise the entire ad space. I presume these caricatures are digital, so you should have the source files = can make them over interesting backgrounds and make more engaging ads than just plopping the caricatures in.
Hey there,
I really suggest that you significantly strengthen the "using the affiliate marketing principles" portion of your formula. Right now, the landing page in particular is extremely weak.
If I were you, I would suggest that you create a post on "Help Me Improve My Landing Page", and iterate it based on the suggestions that you get. By the end of the process, you will look back on your original landing page design and realise all the things that were wrong with it.
I definitely do not want to discourage you. This seems like quite an interesting project. But I don't wan't you to lose so much money upfront that you actually do not give this project the fair shot that it deserves.
Not to put too cynical a spin on it, but the fact is, if you get the "affiliate marketing principles" side of the formula down pat, you can pretty much sell anything. Right now, you are still very far from being able to do so.
Have you thought on doing it for the time being as a fiverr gig? You should get a lot of response and you can do a few gig extras to gain some more cash flow. It might be less upfront profit but the volume should be big so you should make some more money and fiverr will take care of the advertising for you. With the money you will make there you can invest in advertising for your own landing page and ad least you will have some cash flow going.
You can take it for all different niches as well and not just engaged couples but it is a very good place to start because they are more likely to spend money in order to be unique which can be a very good angle to use, to have something that their friends don't have: to be superior, winning, keeping up etc' like in this post:http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread...as-Cheat-Sheet
Good luck!
