Traffic Junky Creatives, Tracking & Optimizing
Stackers - just getting started with TJ and hoping to get some advice on the following:
1) I'm using Voluum and each creative has it's own unique variable so I can see the clicks they received in from the 'Variables' dropdown. However, it's just clicks and conversions - no impressions. Do you guys just cut on this without knowing the impression each creative has had? Perhaps the method is to divide total campaign impressions over number of ads?
2) What typical CTR and CVR do you look for? Or does it vary too wildly depending on placement?
3) After how many clicks / impressions / conversions (or lack of) do you normally cut creatives?
4) I've seen a few people mention tracking with TJ pixels and this allowing auto-optimization? Can anyone elaborate on what this is and how it's done??
Thanks!

You can check out the impressions each banner is getting using the TJ analytics tool. You have to play around a bit with the tool and change some filters to display your ads. Don't know the path, but I will type it out for you when I get on my laptop.

In the TJ dashboard click on TJ analytics, then in the "traffic & bids" menu select "site performance and revenue", and then under "breakdown by:" select "ad". I ussualy also select "spot" as a second level filter when I am running the same banners on different spots.
What I do is I use the variable menu in Voluum to check which banner got a conversion (when also using landers in between) and I use TJ analytics to cut banners.

2) Both will vary VASTLY by the countries + placements.
3) Depending on the amount of creatives, i'll cut a creative usually after spending 2-3x the payout of the offer if it has 0 leads.

TJ just has a pixel that you need to place with the offer, or at the affiliate network. I have no idea where you find it in their interface though!

I often find that 4% is the magic overall CVR to shoot for.
If you can convert 1 in 25 clicks (banner to lead), then you should be on the right track in most geos.

Finch, you find this even across mobile?

I can only speak for myself, but in general my Mobile CVRs are way lower than that, some even in the 0.XX % range, especially with WIFI traffic.
Considering that the traffic only costs a fraction of the popular WEB placements, it's still possible to have a healthy profit margin though.

Nope, that's specifically for dating web offers on the popular adult sources.
Mobile tends to be a tougher conversion.

Thanks guy.
In TJ, I found the pixel conversion tracker here: https://marketplace.trafficjunky.net/tracker
Created it and added it the 'Pixel HTML' section of my offer... although dunno how it's gonna track creatives...
Will have a play...

If it's an image/javascript pixel it will track them without any particular setup as they are cookie/ip based.
In other words, each time a user clicks and add, TJ knows and tracks them, and can detect if they download the pixel later on regardless of where it comes from.

That's exactly it
